1) Why is magnetic filtration a value? Quality magnetic filters are capable of filtering to submicron levels without flow restriction and are reusable for 10+ years. The most damaging contaminant in engine lube, hydraulic fluid, fuel and coolant is ferrous metal under 10 microns.

2) How do you collect non ferrous contamination on a magnetic filter? Through static adhesion caused by static charge build up with the high flow fluids and or gases.

3) What types of magnetic filters are there? The most common are ceramic and have been used to filter oil and fluids for the past 50 years. The new magnetic filters use rare earth magnets in the magnetic filters.

4) What is the difference between ceramic and rare earth magnetic? Ceramics are low in magnetic strength and will crack and disassemble when exposed to vibration. They also lose their magnetic field strength when exposed to high heat. Exposed ceramic is also very hard to clean.

Rare earth magnets are 4 times stronger than ceramic magnets and handle high heat without losing field strength and are highly resistant to vibration. They are coated and do not crack. They are installed in stainless steel tubes and retain their strength and clean very easily. 5) What are the advantages of OEI magnetic filters? OEI magnetic filters are manufactured with our patented design and are 12 times stronger than ceramic magnet filters and are encased in stainless steel tubes in a patented format that creates powerful projected radial fields that have larger surface area than traditional magnetic filters rods. 6) How do you clean a magnetic filter rod? The OEI magnetic filter rod design has no magnetic field at the end thereby you slide the contamination down to the end and it falls off. 7) What do you do with contamination collected? It is recommended to have the trapped contamination analyzed for wear debris identification. The magnetic filter becomes a predictive maintenance tool.

8) Can I purchase your product directly? We have distribution in most locations around the world and if we do not cover your area, yes we will supply direct.

9) Custom designs? Yes we welcome custom designs.

10) What happens if you remove all the metal out of oil? Our magnetic filters remove the ferrous and in many applications the non ferrous contamination to submicron levels due to static adhesion but you will never remove all the metal as it is produced by moving metal parts, new oils and fluids are contaminated with metal and air ingression contaminates the system with fine metal particles under 10 microns. If you are tracking the contamination levels through oil analysis and install magnetic filters you will simply drop your bench mark levels much lower. The less hard metals results in less wear thereby extended component and fluid/oil life.

The generation of ferrous contaminants in most hydraulic and lube sys-

tems due to both normal and abnormal wear is a fact of life. Knowing the

amount and type of wear particles in the fluid system is paramount to avoid-

ing unscheduled outages. Standard filter elements will capture any type of

particulate contamination, ferrous and non-ferrous, within their media matrix

according to their micron rating. Identification of the contamination captured

typically requires off-site laboratory analyses.

Built-in magnetic filter cores can capture ferrous contaminants in fluid systems,

down to < 1 µm, before they reach the actual filter, thus providing an excel-

lent diagnostic tool for contamination monitoring and proactive maintenance.

Due to static adhesion, the cores can also retain some of the non-ferrous

contaminants. By simply removing the magnetic core and examining the

contamination retained on it under a microscope, reliability and maintenance

engineers across many industries now have a valuable tool for identifying

potential wear-related issues before they become a real problem.

We manufacture an extensive product line utilizing new magnet technology. Our filters work with and compliment existing filtration systems and or replace them with reusable stainless screen filters. Custom designs are welcome.

Industry has been reluctant to employ magnetic filtration due to years of exposure to ineffective design and limited magnetic ability. Recent technological advances in magnetic properties and manufacturing processes have resulted in smaller, stronger high tech magnets available that allow innovative new designs for filtration systems and dramatically improving traditional magnetic filtration.

Industry research states “Iron and Steel” particles under 10 microns in size are the most damaging contaminants in air compression, water, lubrication, hydraulic fluid, coolant and fuel systems. The rate at which contamination enters these systems is greatly underestimated and understated. Likewise, the effectiveness of traditional filters at removing metal contaminants is greatly overstated. Magnetic filtration has practical and beneficial applications for all industry: chemical processing, oil & gas refining, manufacturing, construction equipment, transportation, marine and pulp & paper.

Our first line: reusable magnetic filters that compliment and work with existing disposable filters. They attach to the outer skin, extract and trap contaminants to the interior filter skin.

Our second line: magnetic rods and scrubber filters install in-tank, or inline. They offer maximum filtration, no bypassing with minimal flow restriction, low & high- pressure applications with ten plus years of service.

Our third line: the ADD-Vantage 9000 series are heavy-duty reusable stainless screen filters equipped with an internal magnetic filter and an internal fail-safe by-pass. When the bypass is activated the fluid is still filtered by the magnetic filter. They are environmentally friendly with ten plus years of service.

All our products offer long life, are user friendly, easily cleaned, reusable and maintained with minimal effort and cost. Cleaner fuel and lubricants for all applications in industry will result in reduced maintenance costs and increased productivity. Why Filter Ferrous Contaminants?Removal of ferrous contaminants (iron, steel, etc) will dramatically reduce the damaging wear cycle, extending the life, the fluids and equipment.Studies show ferrous particles smaller than 10 microns will generate 3 to 5 times more wear than larger particles.Equipment is being manufactured with tighter tolerances causing a demand for higher filtration requirements to sub-micron levels. The Magnetic Patch is a temporary solution designed to plug off holes in piping, drop chutes and silos allowing production to be maintained. It is easily installed and removed during a scheduled down time. The Magnetic patch comes in two sizes and can be cut into smaller sizes to accommodate smaller holes and pipes. The “Yard-Master” handles the toughest scrap metal problems and reducing costly tire damage & personal injury. Designed with OEI’s patented magnetic technology that allows the magnetic sweeper to float over the ground while keeping constant contact with the ground extracting debris such as nails, screws, staples, banding, iron chips under the ground surface that become exposed under the pressure of a tire.

The Yard-Master is constructed with high quality air filled 6” tires for ease of maneuvering, available in 3 lengths 12” for shop, 32” for shop or small yards and 42” and custom sizes for yard use. One Eye Industries is pleased to announce an innovative way to filter the contamination in the Komatsu 830E & GE 787 wheel motors. This magnetic filter design offers a multipurpose; first it acts as a level monitor for the oil, second as a filter to remove the most damaging contaminant “ferrous metal” to submicron levels. The third is a predictive maintenance tool, simply remove the trapped contamination and send it away to a lab for analysis.

The test will identify premature wear patterns of the components and allow predictive maintenance scheduling. The adjacent photo shows this magnetic filter is designed with our new 3/4” diameter magnetic filter projecting multiple 4” radial fields. OEI has designed a reusable Stainless Steel Element (9ELSS77532x25) to replace Komatsu's 209-60-77531 disposable element. OEI's stainless steel elements provide maxi-mum filtration protection, eliminating any chance of “channelling or worm holing” the ele-ment is reusable and available in 40, 25 or 10 micron β200 rating.

The 2RNC3810T3 magnetic filter is designed to be installed in the Hydraulic Element Filter (209-60-77532) magnetic technology.

The magnetic filter has been designed for easy installation, simply remove the strainer and drill a 3/8" hole in the center bottom, attached the magnetic filter with (2) 3/8" washers place (1) washer on the magnetic filter insert through the strainer and fasten with the 2nd washer and 3/8" nut. The tee handle is designed to keep the magnetic filter centered in the element.

OEI Fuel Gas filtration system thats incorporates a magnetic separator as the primary filter and a pleated stainless steel cloth element as the final filter.

This environmentally friendly design will filter black powder contamination to submicron levels at an estimated 95+ efficency. This will significantly improve the burn and reduce the acid wear of the pistons and spark plugs.

The magnetic separators have a 5+ years operational life and the cleanable stainless steel cloth filter elements have a 3 to 5+ years operational life.

Our design allows the gas to have first contact with our magnetic separators stationed inside the stainless steel cloth elements thereby allowing an extended element operational life.

The magnetic separators have the most powerful non-electric magnetic fields in the industry with a holding strength of 300 Kg per 300 mm of length.

This magnetic field strength creates the ability to extract and trap submicron contamination while in high flow applications. The change out and cleaning intervals are policed by a differen-tial pressure gauge.

The prime function of the OEI Regrind Mill Hydrostatic Lift Lube System (HLS) is to lubricate the bearing during the three critical periods encountered during start-up and shut-down of the mill. The HLS should be operated during normal mill operation to maintain oil cleanliness and compliment the existing internal lubrication system for the bearing. One HLS system is required for each bearing.

Start-up is the critical period because of the frictional wear and stress developed prior to the formation of an adequate hydrodynamic oil film on the bearing surfaces.

The HLS is designed to float the mill on a film of oil which is introduced under high pressure (3000psi) at the center of the load area of the bearing. A satisfactory oil film is thereby established prior to start-up and during the critical period following start-up. The HLS will maintain an ample lubricant film throughout the critical periods of operation such as an unbalanced load (rock) and thermal expansion and the cooling off period.

The HLS is equipped with state of the art environmentally friendly filtration to ensure protection from premature wear of the entire system by maintaining a high level of oil cleanliness. The oil is filtered by a patented magnetic filter installed prior to the pump to protect the pump and again by the ADD-Vantage 9000 after the pump allowing filtration to submicron levels. The HLS is housed in a cabinet enclosure for protection from the harsh environment of the plant with quick connections for easy install and replace-ment for maintenance. Pressure gauges are visible at all times and remote monitoring optional.

The OEI Kidney Loop combines two filtration technologies in a three filtering stage design that offers a highly efficient and environmentally friendly cleanable long life filtration system.

1st Filtering Stage and primary filter is a magnetic scrubber utilizing OEI patented technology rated to sub-micron filtration capability.

2nd and 3rd Filtering Stage is the ADD-Vantage 9000 series dual filter. THE ENVIRO-WASH 9000

OEI introduces an environmentally friendly and cost effective cleaning system for stainless steel cloth media filter elements. The Enviro-Wash 9000 cleaning system is compact, mobile, user friendly and replaces the tra-ditional ultrasonic cleaning systems.

OEI’s biodegradable cleaning solution will remove carbon, soot, graphite, oils, tars, solvent based products, water repellent greases, waxes, grease, soils and protein deposits.

The Enviro-Wash 9WSH-8 system is designed to clean all our stainless steel cloth media elements. The system operates as a soak and spray process that cycles in 30 minutes from dirty to clean elements and allows the cleaning of (2) 24” elements, (4) 12” elements or (8) 6” elements. The 20 litre envirowash cleaning solution will have a cleaning capacity of 900+ filter elements on average.

The Enviro-Wash 9PWSH-### system is designed as an individual system to clean all our stainless steel cloth media elements. The system operates as a soak and spray and air dry process.

The exclusive remedy for breach of this warranty is replacement of any product which the buyer, within the warranty period, has notified the Seller in writing to be defective, and which the Seller has deter-mined to be defective. If the buyer has submitted a warranty registration card for the product, the notice of the defect must include a proof of purchase. The Buyer will be responsible for all costs of shipment of replacement parts. In no event will the Seller’s liability for any damage exceed the purchase price of the product. SELLER WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE BUYER FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST REVENUES OR PROFITS, EXPENSES RELATED TO TRAVEL, AND LOSS DUE TO PERSONAL INJURY. The sole purpose of the stipulated remedy shall be to provide the Buyer with free replacement of defective parts in the manner provided herein. This exclusive remedy shall not be deemed to have failed of its essential purpose so long as the Seller is willing and able to replace defective parts in the prescribed manner. THE SELLER HAS NOT MADE AND DOES NOT HEREBY MAKE ANY OTHER REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY OR COVENANT WITH RESPECT TO THE CONDITION, QUALITY, DURABILITY, DESIGN, OPERATION, CAPACITY, FITNESS FOR USE, OR SUITABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER PARTS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO NORMAL WEAR AND/OR DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS OF EROSION, CORROSION OR TEMPERATURE. CUSTOM PRODUCTS will have their own warranty supplied.
