Committee Business:
1. Launch Night (Feedback)
Committee did a good job.
In terms of funds and turnout good. The Profit - 600
Some feedback that committee werent mingling enough, so remember for future events.
Transphobia at event involved Genderqueer person committee should be more
vigilant in order to prevent this.
Action taken Lauren will have quiet word with person involved and this will be
discussed at the Campaigns event.
Complaint: having condoms in the toilet was deemed inappropriate. However, this
promotes safe sex so isnt an issue.
Tabitha was amazing on the bar
Overall, there were no problems, just a couple of small things.
2. Campaigns Event:
1. Format:
Lauren and Amy: Thinking of starting the event with the name change discussion,
with coloured pens and flip-chart paper. Lauren introduce why EGM and why name-
change consultation. Discussion of each name limited to a paragraph without
committee opinions, just explaining why its valid.
3 stations will be set up with flipcharts etc, for a name. The groups will be
responsible for a discussion on each name whether they like it, or not. We willmove each group round.
2. Name Change points and concerns
On the night, we have to take additional suggestions of names. we could do
something as simple as put up a suggestion sheet. Instead of opening it up as a
discussion, well go with it if there is plenty of support.
Jess working out how possible names are going to be presented (on website
addresses etc)
3. Campaigns ideas? (discussed!)

2/3
After break, well talk about campaign ideas: Sexual orientation biphobia (issue last
year) Also, why certain identities are ignored/not seen as valid, what we can do to change
Stereotypes: Polo knocking people back because they look too straight. As a society, we
have the power to challenge that. Will also deal with on-campus stereotypes does not
affect just LGBT but also straight people on campus too ties into invisibility of
sexualities/gender.
Amy we can do a poster campaign, join with other universities.
Guy with NUS Jack wants to establish Glasgow connections/network, with
colleges/universities - wants to get involved with us
Need to make it clear that we dont stereotype. We have a good presence to do this.People will come up with ideas on how to tackle it (hopefully)
We could use some small campaigns that we can get involved with.
People seem keen, on campus on these issues.
3. Scene Tour

3/3
a. 14th of November:
Vicky Gunn and Stephanie Rose are super keen, but cannot do it. So, were having it
in January/February/March. This would get us more time.
Scott Turner Trans* issues touring January-May, could be interesting to get him
involved, depending on cost. Could be nice to have this in Feb with LGBT history month.
Could also play into campaign ideas.
b. 14th of NovemberNo event here, have to fill this space.
Hannah Lazerquest? Lauren The riding rooms & Au Coture, Cocktail class?
7. 3rd Party Reporting (Tabitha)
Glasgow only university at 3rd
party conference that was not represented, we donthave a 3rd party reporting facility in the University. Stephanie is more than happy to
train people up for it. This would be good for LGBT to get involved in. Even if uni
doesnt take it up; we should still do it. People should be willing to volunteer.
8. Accessibility (Tabitha)
a. Deaf awareness event?
Could get involved with the sign-language society, those people could have
connections too. Could actually get involved with the Disability Service Matthew,
Disability officer. Next semester?
