Hurricane Sandy & SHPC’s Disaster Response Our Disaster Response team lead, Tary Snyder, keeps us connected with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), PCUSA’s national outreach. PDA (www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/pda/) is already working with other national and interna- tional partners — Sandy also caused great damage in the Caribbean — and more details will be avail- able in time. Giving to PDA’s work is always wel- come. In the short term, PDA asks us all to pray: Holy God, You are our comfort and strength in times of sudden disaster, crisis, or chaos. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, sustain those who work to rescue or rebuild, and surround us now with your grace and peace to face the challenges ahead. Grant us the assur- ance of your presence even in this time of uncertainty, and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ, our rock and redeemer.
