1 Open Heifer

Bred Heifer

Another sacrafice direct from our replacement pen. Her sire is Trust, simply one of the most solid, consistent herd sires in the country. His calves are uniform, pheno typically attractive and his females milk and are very productive. 9Y is a moderate, feminine gal out of our 7U cow, a daughter f our 46G foundation cow by Glacier Cub 446. 9Y’s materinal sister was chosen for the 2010 Santa Sale and sold to Cory Banzhaf in Nebraska. She is bred to PIE Game Plan 0618 (1407095) a great young bull we purchased from Lakeview Ag and Cattle in Idaho. His dam is a Pieper matriarch with a MPPA of 111.3. Confimed bred on July 26 at 100 days, her projected calving date is January 27, 2013. The calf’s projected EPDs are -1.4, 57, 89, 19 and 47.

This beauty is a full sib to 29Y which was last year’s top seller here at this sale selling to Roger & Gabriel Gibson of Blocker, OK at $8,500. 17Z will turn heads just as her big sister is still doing. What could be the value of a female of this caliber? Her dam 8001 is out of the infamous Mulberry bull and a daughter of the Essence 42G cow that was show female of the year in Canada a few years ago. Her sire is Red Global Trust, our senior herd sire here at OHR. We can’t say enough positive things about him. Bull calves are stand outs and the daughters are becoming some or our most sought after cows. There is nothing to not like here in Trista Berry 17Z; precision, correctness, a beautiful damn, outstanding, proven sire, and the right stuff in the right places. She is a very complete beauty that will surely be exciting to own!! Show prospect / cow prospect with this one!

The Edward and Jeanne Olson family of OHR Red Angus, Argusville, ND have generously donated OHRR 001 Cherry Trista 21Z for the Association’s Heifer raffle this year.

The winning individual may choose from the heifer, $750.00 cash or another prize option of 1,000 of Bull Bucks at the 2013 Olson Red Angus Production sale has been added to the raffle. Tickets may be purchased from any NDRAA member for $5.00 per ticket. At the beginning of the auction, tickets will be also be auctioned off in packages at $5.00 per ticket. Drawing will take place at 3:00 p.m. central time at Kist Livestock Auction, Mandan ND on December 1, 2012.

This heifer is a moderate beauty that comes in a beautful package. She is feminine, correct and well-bred with superior EPD’s to boot. Her sire is our 2012 Red Power Sale topper at $21,000 (1/2 interest) to Johnny and Stephanie Jung from Mina, SD. He is a great one as are his first calves! Her dam is a first calver who has done a great job! (GDM is 103.8 HPPA). Cherry Trista has a great future!! Congrats to the lucky ticket holder!!

KKC Ms Elegance 30Z is a maternal sister to 10Y which sold for $5,250 in our annual production sale to Rohrich Cutting Edge Ranch. 10Y is one of the elite bred heifers in the cowherd of the Rohrich Ranch. 30Z is flawless in her phenotype and shows the maternal strength of a great one!! Front pasture female, show ring contender, donor candidate, Ms. Elegance 30Z is the answer!!I absolutely fell in love with this heifer when I walked into Ed’s pen of heifers. Style, power, width and dimension. This heifer has it all. She would be extremely competitive in Denver in my opinion and don’t be surprised if she ends up in a donor pen at some point in her career. Your choice of a heifer or bull calf!No semen was sold on Stone Cold in 2012Be One of the First to Own his Progeny!!

6 Pregnant Recip

18K is a proven donor cow that has influenced the Kal-Kota cow herd with several great daughters. Her progeny has sold into several states with excellent results. If your looking for an outcross pedigree mated to the young outstanding STONE COLD Bull, this is an opportunity not to be missed!!!Ed quietly snuck into Denver last year and snuck a great bull out from under our noses before we knew what had happened. I saw the Stone Cold bull again not long after Ed had pulled him off of the cows and he had already bred cows in Illinois prior to that. For a young bull to to have kept his schedule and his condition especially in this past summers conditions really impressed me. Don’t be surprised if Stone Cold is in Denver again this year and in the hunt for the purple banner.

This is an exciting bred heifer with a -BW EPD and is in the top 2% WW, 3% YW, 10% TM and top 14% stay. 173 also supports positive carcass numbers. Her Grandam CBR Mis Roxi 883-518 has proven to be early gestation with a very uniform level udder. Her sire, MLK CRK Epic 9183 orginates from a Blockanna 065 Dam who has a 101.4 MPPA on 10 head!!It didn’t take me too long when I got to Huber’s to decide that Emmy and I see cattle a lot the same. I think that you will be very pleased with the sale lots from this young family of progressive Red Angus breeders.

265 is in the top 11% weining weight, 9% yearling weight, 16% total maternal and the top 30% stay. She stems from a moderate made, easy fleshing, well uddered cow family. 265 is deep bodied with the wedge shaped feminine desire we all look for in a female. Her dam has a 102.4 MPPA. Her sire PPRD Bomber 012 was a bull with high expectations from Prairie Pride Red Angus. He was terminally injured earlier than we had hoped and will only have this one set of calves.

TRCC Reva 40Z is a young calf that looks like shes going to be a great show heifer!! She’s really sweet fronted, long bodied with lots of muscle. Her sire is one our herd sires and he’s a Rambo 502 Son! This is his first calf crop and he did an awesome job with his first time around! Her dam Scott Reva 705 is a really good LCC Major League A502M daughter. Look this calf up on sale day!!This heifer is about as close to Rambo 502 as you can get. Her dam is a Major League daughter that originated in the reputation Scott herd in MN. Ron and Ryan let me take my pick of their heifer calves for this sale and I believe you will be very pleased with their offering.

TRCC 23Z is a really complete female. She has that brood/donor cow look to her. She is long and deep sided with good muscle and has really good legs and feet. She gets out and moves very well as well as tracking good. Her dam Seeger Red Sadie 334 is a donor cow in our program and she’s just one of those cows that never misses year after year. 334 has a 106.1 MPPA. We think this calf is going to make a great cow!!!Another super numbered heifer from Ron and Ryan with the look and genetics to back it up. She may not be a goosey fronted show heifer like some are but she will be a herd bull raising machine. Ranking in the top 10% or higher in 7 different measured traits for growth, maternal and carcass, I think this heifer has as much potential to make her mark in the breed and unquestion-ably the new owners herd as any one walking.

With her grand sire Cherokee Canyon and son of Scott Angel, who was the highest selling lot in the Great Northern for several year, this hefer comes from the top of our replacement pen! When the Scott’s tell you they are bringing one from the top of the replacement pen there are three things you should do. 1) Call the bank and arrange financing. 2) Make hotel reservations and 3) Hook on to the trailer and head to the sale.

What a spectacular opportunity! A paternal sister to the sire of the 2012 National Res. Champion bull. She is steeped in in some of the best genetics ever offered by the reputation Six Mile herd in Canada. Read the pedigree from top to bottom and you will find some the worlds most sought after genetics, starting with the phenomenal Six Mile Wind Chill who is making his mark in the Red Angus world. Maternally she is blessed with the Six Mile Tidal wave bull who is an own son of Indeed! Couple this with the combination of the Pieper herd from Nebraska and the Ankony Flora cow that has proven to be a producer of greatness for the Finch herd in Iowa and you have a very elite genetic profile. Truly a breeding piece that many spend their whole life trying to acquire. Add all of this to her nicely balanced EPD’s and a MPPA of 102.9 and the temptation just gets more enticing. As an added bonus, she is carrying a Six Mile Game Face calf that will be arriving early in February. Here is a chance to get one of the first Game Face calves to hit the ground in 2013!

If you are looking for a heifer calf to drag that will be competitive at any level, make sure you look this young lady up! Pheno-typically she is extremely nice. They think enough of this heifer that as a part of the sale stipulations, they will retain the show rights on her through Denver 2013. Genetically she is also very nice being sired by the Six Mile Travelocity bull who is a Sakic son. Maternally her dam is represented by past trait leader Chocktaw Chief 373, New Trend 22D and Rambo 502, three breed legends. She also ranks in the top 8% for WW, 11% YW, 15% TM and 4% FAT EPD with a 100.3 MPPA. Starting out life at a meager 70 lbs, she earned her growth numbers as she blossomed to a 750 lb WW. She is ranked in the top 6% of the breed for milk, she will raise that big calf every year at weaning. She is a ranchers kind of female that is backed by years of breeding highly productive cows that have proven themselves and stood the test of time. On August 5th, 2012 a member of the North Dakota Red Angus Association family lost one of their own. 10 year old Heather Ann Presser, daughter of Troy and Annette Presser passed away due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident. As was stated in her obituatry, she was a beautiful little girl, who lived her life as we all should. Just by being herself, she made a difference in this world. She was the happiest girl you ever met, always willing to help others and make friends wherever she went. Heather knew how to dream big, yet she was grateful for all that she had, and quick to acknowledge with a thank you. Heather knew she was loved and was able to share that love back with all of us. Whether through a long hug, a cuddle on your lap, a peck on the cheek, or the words themselves, she was never shy about saying I love you. Heather loved to do many things. The typical country girl activities of taking care of animals, 4-H, garden-ing, helping on the farm, hunting in all seasons, and just playing outside were tops on her list. She also loved to make music, dress up, play basketball, swim, ride horse, and spend time with family and friends. Heather was an adventurous girl too, who loved to explore and learn new things. The NDRAA will be holding an auction during the Banquet on November 30 to generate money for the Heather Presser Memorial Scholarship fund. The NDRAA will be donat-ing an item to auction and will be accepting any other items to auction as well. Please bring items to the annual meeting or banquet that you wish to donate to this scholarship fund.

Ms Breaker is an extremely long bodied heifer that carries extra volume and dimension. She displays solid growth and per-formance numbers, landing her in the top 6% of the breed in both WW and YW. The maternal pedigree runs deep in with this female, as her MGD 012 is a thirteen year old cow that is still in our herd and boasts a 108 MPPA. We are letting this heifer go because we have a beautiful sister in our bred heifer pen. Packer is passing on that extra maternal ability, along with lots of meat and muscle. Predictability is bred in!

Ms Destiny is a dark cherry red heifer with a lot of capacity and shape. Her MGS is Chicawa 366 who has proven to be a solid foundation for producing females for us. She has a great disposition and all the makings for a show heifer prospect as well as a great cow. Several years ago a well respected lady in Montana was telling me about a heifer that had the “P” factor. Of course I had to ask what the “P” factor was and she explained that it is that “look” that certain animals have that sets them apart from the rest - pizzazz! This heifer has the “P” factor without a doubt.

AI’d on 6/2/12 to 5L Norse Design 673-5035. Pasture Exposed 6/17/2012 to Eura 22X, which is a 6 Mile timberlake Son. Based on ulstraound information, we believe she is safe the the AI Bull. 1105 is a solid cow with great EPD’s across the board. Here is a very maternally bred young female that ranks in the top 9% of the breed for MILK EPD. She is backed by breed chang-ing genetics such as Chateau, King Rob, Hi Ho, Patriot and Topper to just name a few. To put it very plain and simple, she is bred to be a cattleman’s kind of female. One of those that breeds back timely every year and in the fall has a big calf following here into the weaning pen. Build your herd here!

Expression is an own daughter of the much sought after 5L Summit. She is also a full sib to the “pick of the Summit’s” that sold in the 2009 Nation Convention sale. Her dam is a headliner in the Jacobson E.T. program and traces back to Bieber Make Mimi , Buf Crk Vaquero as well as RCRA Federal Express from the Rock Creek herd, all phenomenal female makers in their own right. Make no mistake about it, if you are looking for a female that will leave her mark in your herd and possibly in the breed as a whole through her progeny , look expression up on sale day. She also touts nicely balanced E.P.D.’s a crossed the board and excels in her carcass numbers as well, ranking in the top 2% for fat and top 5% for REA. Just to sweeten the pot a little more, she is called ultra sound safe to her AI sire, the $15,000 5L Independence 560-298Y(reg. #1450309) for an early April Calf. Independence was purchased in the 5L sale last spring and is renowned for his extreme thickness, length and E.P.D.’s. Here is a chance to own some of the very first Independence progeny in the calf that this exceptional female is carrying. Don’t be surprised if her first calf more than pays for this heifer and ends up in a donor pen!

How many times do you get the chance to own embryos out of two of the miost highly sought after animals in the breed and know upfront that it is a proven mating? That is exactly what is represented here. 205T sold in the Mulberry Mayhem event a little over a year ago to Blair Ag in Canada for $9,500. Blair’s also own the semen rights on Red Corner Creek Cash and have let only a few limited packages of semen out to the public. I was fortunate enough to see 205T’s natural calf this past summer who is a full sib to these embryos. Don’t be surprised if you see him in Denver in January, he is that good! it is very possible that this is the last time that these genetics will be offered in the states. Take full advantage of tihs genetic opportunity and position yourself on the cutting edge of the Red Angus breed. Don’t hold back at sale time, the winning bidder may take both packages!!

Ok all of you pedigree hounds, call you ET facility and have them set up your best donor cows!! Here is an opportunity!! 4 straws of LMB Golden Boy 5146!! While I am sure that there are breeders in the crowd who were not even born when this all took place, I can still remember the buzz that took place when the calf out of Solid Gold and Red Girl first came into the public eye! Who would have thought that 27 years later I would have the opportunity to sell maybe the last semen in existence on the bull. While I have no idea of what this semen will bring, I do know that you have to find it before you can buy it! This may very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many breeders. Come locked and loaded to own a piece of history on December 1 in Manadan , ND! Selling 1 package of 4 straws.

For those of us who have been around awhile the BJR Make My Day bull represented 2 things-calving ease and tremendous producer of females. Make My Day was calved in the spring of 93 and continues to influence the breed today through his progeny. To say that this bull has stood the test of time would be an understatement at the very least. If you have ever owned a Make My Day daughter, you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say that those females work!! He has recorded almost 4,000 sons and daughters and continues to maintain acceptable EPD’s including being positive for all carcass traits and ranking in the top 1% for marbling at a 1.11!! Here is your chance to own a piece of a breed legend, my advise is to buy it all while you have the chance! Selling 3 packages of 5 straws each.
