Ken Kavanagh Director of Athletics

The key to our future accomplishments will be our abilities to generate much needed additional external resources. Hence, we must continue to grow our Eagles Club membership, amongst other avenues (i.e., ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, etc.). If you are not already involved, please seriously consider joining our company.

We have a great beginning to our FGCU story, but our best years are ahead! Your continued support and generosity greatly enhances our path to future successes, and we are very thankful for all those who have been with us as loyal season ticket holders and Eagles Club Members. We feel very fortunate to know so many of you and call you our friends.

We look forward to sharing many future Green & Blue victory celebrations with our great Eagle Club Members in the years ahead.

In the meantime, thanks for all that you do for FGCU Athletics!

God Bless & Go Eagles!

Dear Eagles Club Family,

Greetings from FGCU Athletics!

On behalf of all our student-athletes and coaches, I want to extend our tremendous appreciation to all those who have helped make our numerous successes possible.

As we go to print, 2011-12 has been another memorable year here on “The Nest”; four more championships plus our first ever NCAA Tournament appearances; three nationally ranked teams and more victories over BCS programs in a number of sports; a record cumulative grade point average and countless community service hours by our Eagle athletes. We are proud of our achievements on and off the field.

What is the Eagles Club?

The Eagles Club is the official organization that supports Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics. Financial assistance from the membership helps to support our programs, build and maintain outstanding facilities, and fund scholarships. More than 250 talented student-athletes in 15 sports benefit from resources provided by the Eagles Club annually. In addition the Eagles Club membership provides members with opportunities to participate in exclusive social events, access to coaches and teams, as well as the intrinsic satisfaction of assisting so many quality young student-athletes.

FGCU Athletics Needs Your Financial Support

Donations to the Eagles Club provide additional resources in support of programs, coaches, and student-athletes during a time when FGCU Athletics is experiencing increased operational costs and budget cuts. By becoming a member, you can make a tangible difference in our quest for excellence in every area of competition. FGCU Athletic Programs are funded annually from contributions from the student body, ticket and sponsorship sales, and most importantly through private donations to the Eagles Club by generous supporters like you.

Please help level the playing field and retain talented coaches by joining the Eagles Club today!

• Four programs have made the NCAA Tournament or Championship meet in the school’s first year of Division I postseason eligibility.

• FGCU was the only Division I school in 2011 to win its conference tournament in both men’s and women’s soccer and was one of just 11 schools to have both programs in the NCAA Tournament.

• Senior Brandon Pena (Men’s Golf) and freshman Emma Svensson (Swimming & Diving) became the first student-athletes in program history to earn NCAA Championship berths as individuals.

• Five current coaches have won Coach of the Year awards.

1. Join the Eagles Club Annual Fund The Eagles Club is the annual giving fund for athletics. The first step in supporting our programs, coaches, and student-athletes is to become a part of the Eagles Club. Increasing annual support is critical to provide the proper resources.

2. Make a gift toward a special project or initiativeWhile joining the Eagles Club is the first priority for supporters, it isn’t the only option. You can also make a gift that will be earmarked for a specific capital project, legacy fund, naming opportunity or endowment.

3. Find out if your company participates in a matching gifts programMany companies have programs in place whereby they match donations (sometimes doubling or even tripling the charitable portion of a gift). The individual donor receives credit for both their gift and the company’s match.

4. Eagles Club Corporate MembershipCorporate memberships are designed for businesses that don’t fit into the Corporate Sponsorship piece. We’ve found that Lawyers, CPA’s, Dentists, Golf Courses, etc can use an Eagles Club Corporate Membership to reward employees at athletic contests. Companies can make a tax deductible contribution today!

Page 9: 2012 FGCU Booster Brochure

5. Refer a friend to the Eagles ClubThe purpose of the Eagles Club is to help strengthen the resource pool for our student-athletes by growing our membership base. Help us grow our membership numbers by referring a friend, co-worker or fellow season ticket holder.

• Online • Phone • E-mail • Mail*For more information go to FGCUAthletics.com/Giving/EaglesClub* 6. Remember FGCU Athletics in your Estate PlanningYou can help ensure the continued success of FGCU Athletics in perpetuity by making a legacy gift. We will work with the planned giving staff at FGCU and you to determine a gift plan that best meets your financial and philanthropic goals.

7. Eagles Scholarship SocietyThe FGCU Athletics’ mission to provide the best athletic and academic experience for our student-athletes will endure with help from our most committed supporters. A commitment to join the Eagles Scholarship Society paves the way for our student-athletes to become champions on the field/court and in the classroom!

The Eagles Club Corporate membership is designed for businesses looking to support FGCU Athletics and reward employees. This membership option is for a business or practice that doesn’t have an interest in advertising or signage. Lawyers, Dentists, CPAs, Golf Communities, etc., can use the Corporate Membership to reward employees by attending games and receiving recognition by the public address announcer. This is a great way for local businesses to join the FGCU Athletics family and help support Southwest Florida’s hometown team!
