PRUDENCE MTHLALANE

1979 - 2012

Prudence served the Lord well in her capacity as book keeper for Go-Tell and CBN Africa. She went to be with Jesus on Sunday night 3rd June. after a struggle with cancer. Her pain is now no more and she is with the LORD ‘which is far better’. We have grieved with her husband Them-ba and children Solly and Portia, but we do not sorrow as those who have no hope. She is sadly missed by us all.

ACMCONFERENCE formerly ACB Willowpark,7-9june with PHIL & KATHLEEN COOKE

GO-TELL and CBN Africa helped to sponsor the very successful annual conference of the Association of Christian Media attended by media professionals of all disciplines (TV, Radio and Internet).

Provocative seminar titles like “Branding Faith: Im-pacting the culture through the power of a compelling brand”, “The 10 biggest mistakes Christians make in the media”, “Building a team that jolts the world” and “One big thing: Ignite your media future” were dealt with by Dr Phil Cooke at the Conference. Attended by a record number of registrations, leaders of media min-istries from South Africa and some other African states agree they were challenged to change their own meth-ods of communicating the gospel through new ideas and the channels and opportunities afforded them. My own team and I were deeply impacted by Phil’s style of communicating how to adapt to the future. The interactive workshops, devotional sessions and net-working with other ministry professionals were also invaluable. We congratulate Jackie Georgiou of JOY Maga-zine who was elected the new chairperson of the As-sociation, the first woman and the youngest person to be installed to this important office since inception of the Association.

tRust God’s Goodness

Before we can receive God’s guidance, we must first trust His goodness. He always desires good for us and will never harm us: 1 John 4:8 says, God is love—and His love sacrifices itself for others. Jesus tells us, I have come that they may have life … more abundantly (John 10:10).

In Matthew 6:10, Jesus teaches us to pray: Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We are asking that God’s will in heaven be manifested on earth. Heaven has no sorrow, pain or death—only peace, joy, and continuous blessing.

We can trust God 100 percent because His will is forever good. Romans 12:2 describes it as that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The ultimate guidance is to know God’s perfect place for us, which is in the Body of Christ. Ephesians 2:10 says, We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

God has ordained a pattern of good that is both pleasing to Him and beneficial for us. He made each of us for a certain purpose, with deeds to do and a course of action to follow.

Romans 8:28 promises, All things work together for good to those who love God, to those … called according to His purpose. God is active in our lives, turning evil to good, teaching us from our mistakes, and shaping everything for His purposes. When we trust His goodness, we can say, “God, take my life. I’ll go anywhere or do anything because I am Yours.” And we can have full confidence that He will direct our paths.

Scripture is quoted from the NKJV.

Our office is often inundated with prayer requests of such a nature that they can only be described as tsunamis of life. Either through their own foolishness or through the regular storms of life, people are ex-posed to the most debilitating circumstances. Our hearts go out to them and as a staff we pray prayers of agreement in Jesus’ name that we believe will relieve them of dire situations. Many of those same people need to understand that when they are caught in a storm it is absolutely imperative that they anchor their lives in the Christ of the Cross and the Resurrection. When the boat on which the apostle Paul was sailing was about to be dashed on the rocks, the crew did not just hope for the best, but ‘they threw out four anchors … and prayed for daylight’ (Acts 27: 29). They were fixed to the things that were fixed. So should you and I be, for when economies and political institutions fail, only unshakable things will re-main (Heb 12: 27). Only the Kingdom of God cannot be shaken (Heb 12: 28) and the Word of God remains forever (Isa 40: 8). The Lord does not want anyone to be destroyed (2 Pet 3: 9) and our mandate is to ensure that those who are being destroyed by the storms of life come to faith and repentance in Christ and are steadfast and se-cure in Him. Through production stories aired on television, Christian movies shown in our townships and informal settlements, DVDs distrib-uted through our website and the retail trade, missionary activities in areas dominated by the bondage of religion, care for orphans and the poor, you are, as a partner under God, making a difference in the lives of thousands every month, and so fulfilling that mandate. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel! Recently we were privileged to be part of the Missionary Consultation arranged by SAAWE, and part of the ACM Conference at which Phil Cooke was the keynote speaker. We are blessed to network with others called and engaged in the ministry of our Lord and Master to a lost gen-eration. All Bible references are from the NLT.
