Thisclinicallyfocused,CME-accreditedsymposiumisdesignedtoofferthesamehigh-calibereducationalcontentforwhichtheASHannualmeetingisknown.Inaddition,thelimitedattendanceforthismeetingallowsforincreasedinteractionandnetworkingopportunities.Weencourageyoutotakeadvantageofthevariousprogrambreaksaswellasthe“LunchwiththeExperts.”
Thisyear’sprogramwillfocusonthenewesttreatmentoptionsforhematologicmalignancieswithaspecialfocusonthrombosis.Topicswillincludethrombocytopenia,myelodysplasticsyndromes,andlymphoma.ThespeakersareexpertsinthefieldandarecarefullyselectedbyASHfortheirbreadthofknowledgeinhematology.

aBOut tHe aSH State-Of-tHe-art SyMPOSiuMIn2004,ASHlaunchedthefirstState-of-the-ArtSymposium(SAS).Theone-and-a-half-dayprogram,heldinthefalleachyear,isdesignedtoprovidepractitionerswithanupdateonadvancesinthetreatmentofblooddiseaseswiththeintentofaddressingeducationalgapsandimprovingcompetenceindailyhematologypractice.
TheSASprovideshigh-quality,up-to-date,evidence-basedcontinuingmedicaleducationthatspansthemedicalfieldandpracticeofhematology.Thesmaller,clinicallyfocusedprogramformatprovidesattendeeswithampleopportunitiestodiscusstheiractualpatientcasesandpracticechallengeswithexpertsinthefield.Additionally,inordertoenhancetheexchangeofprogramcontent,paneldiscussionsand“LunchwiththeExperts”areincludedinthemeetingcontent.
