The City of Kirkland uncorks its signa-ture summer festi-
val, Kirkland Uncorked, July 15-17 in Marina Park on the shores of Lake Washington.
The event celebrates the best of Washington’s art, food and wine with activities and exhibits throughout Kirkland’s pictur-esque waterfront and downtown.
The Tasting Garden offers guests the op-portunity to taste from more than 60 Washington wines, sample regional cuisine from Kirkland-area restaurants and be entertained by the North-west’s favorite bands on the main stage.
Grilling demonstra-tions and the anticipated annual grill-off with Washington’s top chefs take place on the beach throughout the weekend.
Winemakers and winery liaisons will be on hand to answer questions
and provide tast-ing tips to guide guests through the collection of Washington
wines. Kirkland Un-
corked guests can also stroll the Promenade, free and open to all ages, to shop Artist Lane, curated by the Kirkland Arts Center and featuring art from local, regional and nationally recognized artists in a variety of
mediums. The Arts for All Expe-
rience invites attendees to participate in art activi-ties from clay throwing to sketching the landscape.
Also in the Kirkland Uncorked Promenade are the Boat Show and Ci-tyDog Magazine’s Cover Dog Model Contest on Sunday at noon.
Kirkland Uncorked is a benefit for the Hope Heart Institute. For 50 years the Hope Heart Institute has made heart disease more treatable, beatable and prevent-able.

The Kirkland Uncorked Promenade is artistic fun for all ages.
Whether it’s in the air, on the grill, or on the canvas, guests can experi-ence a spectrum of art at Kirkland Uncorked, a festival of art, food and wine on the waterfront July 15-17 at Marina Park in Kirkland.
The Kirkland Uncorked Promenade, presented by Bruce Titus Eastside Subaru, is a mecca for the arts during this three-day festival. Activities include:
• Artist Lane curated by Kirkland Arts Center: The Kirk-land Uncorked Prome-nade will be alive with art
from local and regional artists in all mediums.
Curator Kirkland Arts Center has
worked with thousands of artists since it was formed as
the Creative Arts League nearly 50
years ago. KAC serves the Eastside arts commu-
nity by providing artists and art lovers of all ages the opportunity to work together, build creative skills, and broaden their knowledge, understand-ing and appreciation of the visual arts.

Bring your dog to bob for ten-nis balls, go on a
Rocking Doggie Treasure Hunt and more during the free Go Dog, Go! Kirkland Canine Festival, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24 at Crestwoods Park.
Other activities dur-ing the event include a Canine Costume Con-test from 10:30-10:45 a.m., sponsored by Little Monarch Studios; Best Duo or Look Alike (child and dog costume contest from 10:45-11 a.m.; Em-erald City K-9 Freestyle Dancers from 11-11:30 a.m.; and Musical Sits Game from 11:30 a.m. to noon, sponsored by Dogs-a-Jaimmin’.
Canines will also have the opportunity to strut their stuff dur-
ing DMarie’s Boutique’s Small Dog Fashion Show at noon; Happy Hound Hotel’s Highest Jumper Contest at 12:20 p.m.; and Woody’s Friends Got Talent (junior and adult handler contests) at 1 p.m., sponsored by the Woodmark Hotel.
Concessions will be available on site and chil-dren’s activities will also be available.
The event is presented by Kirkland Dog Off-Leash Group, the City of Kirkland, and Kirkland Downtown Association. Event proceeds will help provide dog waste bags in Kirkland City Parks and will help fund a future dog park.

Go! festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 24 at Crestwoods Park and is presented by KDOG.
OFF-LEASH DOG PARK IN KIRKLAND
The Kirkland Council authorized KDOG to build a public dog
park on city property near the intersection of 113th Avenue
N.E. and N.E. 120th St. last November. KDOG agreed to
fund all direct costs associated with both the development and
annual operating costs of the facility on city-owned land. No
city funds will be used for the project.
