Quick is a gorgeous expression of speed in a luxurious wrapping of style. Highlighted recently by the style arbiters of Wired magazine, Quick is a fast and nimble flat bar bike with performance as snappy as its looks and handling as suave as its tube shapes. 1. Flat Bars RuleQuick proves that freedom, style and performance aren’t exclusive to the drop bar crowd. The Quick offers great handling and upright comfort without sacrificing great looks and ride-all-day performance.

Carbon Or AlloyQuick comes in a choice of frame materials: Cannondale’s proprietary carbon layup delivers light weight performance and tube shaping and styling for design savvy speedsters everywhere. The alloy versions, the Quick SL and Quick showcase our almost 30 years of aluminum craftsmanship.

3. Super Light Weight1350 g* rigid frame, unheard of in a city bike, provides lightweight, nimble, responsive handling while SAVE vibration damping features ensure comfort and predictable handling on rough city streets.

4. Alloy Redesign Redesigned for 2011, Quick SL 1, 2 and 3 now feature ultra refined aluminum seatstays which, counter to common perception, actually dropped weight and improved comfort compared to the old carbon ones.

1. Cannondale HeritageCannondale and touring bikes go back, way back. All the way to 1983 and the revolutionary concept of bikes made from oversized aluminum. As the bike that got us started in the bicycle business, it’s as important in our line now as it was back then.

2. Taper-Butted TubesLike the legendary CAAD frames of the past, our touring frame features 6061 aluminum which has been taper-butted and heat-treated to a T6 hardness. The smooth transitions provided by taper-butting eliminate the internal stress risers of traditionally butted frames, again allowing a lighter, stronger frame.

3. Smooth Welds

A true smooth weld, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” of our competition, Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

4. PowerPyramid Down TubeA crafted down tube places material where it’s needed while shaving it from where it’s not: smaller diameter with thicker wall at the head tube and larger diameter to allow thinner wall at the bottom bracket area, the PowerPyramid saves weight while increasing torsional rigidity at the power points.

5. Wishbone Seat StaysPedaling a loaded touring bike or towing a trailer can create some serious torque on a frame. Wishbone seat stays resist torsional forces from pedaling and pannier load while providing vertical strength for load support and security.

6. Touring GeometryTouring bikes have specific and unique demands made of them. To ensure true tracking under load and at speed, a slightly longer wheelbase than regular bikes and appropriate head angle and fork rake are designed into our touring frame.

Tandem riding is possibly the most fun anyone can have on a bike: not only does it allow two people of differing abilities to ride together, but it channels the power of two riders into one bike producing more speed, more thrills and definitely more enjoyment.

Designing a great tandem frame, though, can be a challenge: a long wheelbase structure has to resist the phenomenal amount of torque and lateral forces produced by two riders pedaling in sync.

In 2011 we’re focusing all our efforts on one top of the line model. It’s the lightest, most laterally and torsionally rigid tandem on the market. It’s designed and made that way because we want the stoker and captain to be able to get out of the saddle confidently knowing that there’ll be no squirrelly flex; we want them to be able to bomb the descents with responsive handling and sure-footed tracking; and we want effort to equal speed and performance. What you put in is what you get back and more with nothing lost along the way. Two is the magic number.
