PPurposeurpose The Medina County Visual Art Festival—High School Senior Show continues to provide a forum for students to see the works of other students from across the county. The format is similar to a graduating art major in college who is required to hold a senior show. Additionally, the Medina County Art League presents scholarship awards to the winners of its “High School Seniors Scholarships Program” during the Visual Art Festival. An outgrowth of the Visual Art Festival is a year-around rotating student artwork display on all six floors of the Medina Hospital Medical Center.

MMedina edina CCounty ounty AArt rt LLeagueeague Scholarship Awards

Medina County Art League has a raffle of donated painting from participating artists in our annual Art in the Park event, held on the third Sunday each year in July. For several years the league as added to the raffle earnings making the Scholarship Awards an outstanding amount of money for the students. This year is no different. We have set aside $2,800 to be distributed as follows: 1st Place - $1,000; 2nd Place - $700, 3rd Place - $550; and Honorable Mention - $350. This year we also have a $200 Lois Steinmetz Memorial Award. Judges Barbara Johns and Jean Scandlon are always happy to see such quality coming from the students. Our challenge is to find the students who not only have talent but who can create with their heart. We believe we have done this and are happy to announce the following award winners. We also believe the teachers play a large part in the quality of work the students produce and would like to thank them for giving our students the tools to help them develop their artistic abilities.
