•Be sure you are current on your PTF’s–Changes made frequently so check often
–Last minute changes may be made

EOY Unemployment FilingEOY Unemployment Filing• Follow same steps as before
– run other reports needed (labor, deduction, vac/sick, etc)
– create 4th qtr. File– when all through, opt. 6 to clear year– run reports and balance
• -this creates files with U3emaxx, U3pyexx, etc with the year (ex. 11) that is used for W-2’s (be sure info is correct before clearing)
– change tax tables for new year
– can do first PR of 2012

School Tax Tables until AFTER doing Option 6 to clear the year
• The files saved off with the year are:– U3EMAxx, U3EDUxx, U3PDUxx, U3PYExx,
U3PYHxx, U3FDTxx, U3STTxx, and U3VACxx.
• Just making copies of some files so may take longer to run.

Electronic Filing- W-2’s and Electronic Filing- W-2’s and UIUI
• Need Client Access to make transfer to PC• W-2’s- do practice ones on PLAIN PAPER until
you verify all info is correct-keep your correct copy as a file copy
• Run on correct forms– difference in printers for alignment
• Check out Govt. BSO website for preview of W-2’s with Accuwage– New download each year, print off verification– Check file with notepad

State W-2’sState W-2’s• Need to check with your state if they
accept electronic W-2’s– EFW2 format– Some states require additional info
• MN-Preparer’s name and state tax ID• ID- RV record- state info-looking to add• Other states- check and let us know

Electronic FilingElectronic Filing• Both W-2’s and UI are in EFW2
format• Have until the end of month following
the EOQ for UI and March for W-2’s but don’t wait too long due to high volume (W-2’s for state-check your state’s information)
