Registration is $85.00 and will include all events with the exception of the Grand Pre Winery Tour and Lunch ($40.00) and the Farewell Lunch ($20.00). For detailed registration information please refer to the registration form.

Friday, July 8th 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Reunion Check-In, K.C. Irving Centre

11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Grand Pré Winery Tour and Lunch, Domaine De Grand Pré

2:30 – 4 p.m. The Life and Music of G. B. Viotti, K.C. Irving Centre

Warwick Lister (Class of ’61) will give an informal lecture-concert in the Garden Room on the life and music of Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755–1824). Viotti’s music has not regained anything like the esteem and popularity it enjoyed in his lifetime. And yet, his music for the violin is worthy to be set alongside that of his

near-contemporary, Mozart. Warwick, the author of a recent biography entitled Amico: The Life of Giovanni Battista Viotti, will play several representative works by this great Piedmontese musician, arguably the most influential violinist who ever lived.

4:30 – 6 p.m. Honouring Major Fred G. Kelly, Acadia Athletic Complex

A reception will be held in the Hall of Fame Room, followed by the unveiling of a display case of artifacts that recognize the Major’s many achievements and his 40 years of contributions to Acadia. This display is one of two 50th Reunion gifts to Acadia from the Class of ’61. Come, hear stories, reminisce, enjoy light refreshment, and be part of this gift presentation ceremony.

6 – 7:30 p.m. Supper, on your own

7:30 p.m. Class of ’61 Kitchen Party, 84 Bishop Avenue, Wolfville

Hosted by the Class of ’61’s 50th Reunion Planning Committee, at the home of Nancy Hicks (Class of ’65) and David Pretty (Class of ’61).
