March 2011 Newsletter act Justly love Mercy Walk Humbly Micah six:eight South Africa Bound We are on the move again (surprise surprise) and the salty South African air is on our mind. At the moment we are in The Garden State sharing some beloved family moments with Dianeʼs family as we try to break down the twelve thousand mile trip from Kona to South Africa into reasonable segments. Last week we had the great joy to fellowship with Steveʼs siblings in Memphis and we have to say we had a beautiful time communing with many of you in the process! Yet in just a little over a week we will once again find ourselves amongst the incredible peoples of South Africa. For six weeks we will be giving pastoral care and leadership to our current photogenX Around The World Track Team as together we seek to engage orphan communities oppressed by the reality of HIV- AIDS. We have the great privilege to continue to build the working relationship between A Voice for the Voiceless and Ten Thousand Homes (a YWAM based NGO that seeks to recreate a holistic concept of “HOME” for the 70,000 plus Child Headed Homes in Eastern South Africa). Weʼll be spending most of our time in and around White River, South Africa as well as in Swaziland where the HIV infection rate is currently up over 28% nation wide, but where the love of God is also whispering itʼs radically hopeful cry ear to ear...weʼll be sure to keep you all in the loop as the outreach unfolds. We welcome your correspondence and prayers as we go! Steve & Diane Schallert

Grace & Peace,

Baby SchallertIn other news, the pregnancy is going splendidly. Dianeʼs epic battle with morning sickness has nearly been won and every check up at the Midwifery has shown that Little Schallert is in fact a fabulously healthy little person whoʼs heart beats like a racehorse! Can you believe we are already in week 17 of pregnancy? That little bugger is going to be here in no time...and we couldnʼt be more excited to meet him or her.

Community TransformationsWe would also like to take this moment to share a little more about what we will be up to the rest of the year. Over the past couple of months God has been leading and speaking to us very strongly about beginning to lay more concrete roots into the longterm call of missions on our family. Much of our prayer has been around community building and life-long radical missions living and it seems that Jesus has been opening some beautiful doors in the process. A couple months ago we were invited to staff an upcoming Discipleship Training School in September which is being run by a kindred YWAM Kona ministry called Community Transformation. The work of Community Transformation is so in-tune with

the vision of A Voice for the Voiceless that we have decided to join forces for the cause. So this fall we will be joining with some incredible friends to staff the Community Transformations DTS in order to forge a relationship for the future based on radical intimacy, radical community, radical generosity, radical obedience, and radical faith. To find out more about the DTS check out the UofN website here:

AfghanistanDoors have also opened for Steve to travel to Afghanistan in late June as part of a pastoral support team for longterm missionaries serving in the war torn country. The details for the effort are coming together and we will share more in a few weeks once everything is nailed down, but for now we simply wanted to ask for prayers of wisdomand grace as we prepare ourhearts to separate and to travel to this beautiful andyet war-riddled part of theearth once again thissummer.
