most earned on-the-spot admissions to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).


• The Concept: “Making the Ordinary Extraordinary”

– We are creating an extraordinary experience at Pier 54 by bringing carnival and urban block party elements to a historic outdoor space designed to connect worlds and people together.

– In this rare event, different worlds will be joined at Pier 54 to produce a whole far greater than its parts. In essence, through this fundraiser, we are collectively bringing to life what the Shawn Carter Foundation aims to do: be at the center of connecting worlds that help “ordinary” people become their “extraordinary” selves.

• The Venue– Hudson River Park Pier 54, historic pier and open

space measuring 720 ft. long x 80 ft. wide with steel archway upon the entrance. Pier 54 regularly hosts large scale concerts and events.
