Hotel: The Fairmont Southampton 101 South Shore Road Bermuda, SN02
The closest airport to The Fairmont Southhampton is L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) formerly
named Bermuda International Airport.
5
The Bermuda International Airport is located in St. George, approximately 35 minutes from The Fairmont Southampton.
RENTAL CARS AND BUSES
Bermuda must be about the only place left in the world where visitors cannot rent automobiles. Why not? Tourist
safety on unfamiliar, often narrow, winding, sharply twisting roads, is cited as the main reason. Another factor is
Bermuda's very small physical size and fourth-largest population per square mile in the world (after Gibraltar,
Hong Kong and Monaco). Buses and taxis are readily available for guests to get around the island. Bus tokens are
available at the Concierge Desk and Hotel Front Desk.
TAXI FARE
Taxis are available at the airport, hotel, City of Hamilton, and are available by calling the Bermuda Taxi Association
at 441-296-2121. Taxi fare from Airport is approximately $40.00 USD, plus tip (1-4 persons) and is a 30 minute
drive each way.
Shuttles
Shuttle service to and from the airport can be arranged by making online reservations at
http://bermudalimo.com or by calling directly to 441-234-4366. Rates are subject to change without notice.
MOPED RENTALS
Mopeds can be rented from Smatt's Cycle Livery, Ltd. on hotel property
• Must be minimum 16 years of age
• All rentals include lock, helmet, map and carry basket
• Cash, credit card (Visa or Mastercard) accepted, or charge to guestroom
• Rates available from the Smatt's Cycle Livery, Ltd. website www.smattscyclelivery.com
FERRY
Between Southampton and Hamilton
Exclusive for hotel guests of The Fairmont Southampton and The Fairmont Hamilton Princess (Hotel ID required)
• A ferry service for guests operates between the Waterlot Inn at The Fairmont Southampton and the dock at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess (weather permitting). Please consult seasonal schedules
• Golf clubs/bags are permitted on board, but no luggage is allowed
• This beautiful scenic ride takes about 25 minutes one way between the islands

Please find a list of important and Useful Tips below.
1. Bermudians are very friendly by nature. Good morning, good afternoon and good evening are expected greetings.
2. Bermuda recognizes both Bermuda and US dollars. The exchange rate is 1 to 1.
3. There are very tough anti-drug laws in effect. Any illegal substances (no matter how small) found WILL RESULT in Jail Time and Substantial Fines.
4. Assure that you do not bring any form of firearm and ammunition (guns, bullets, pepper sprays or any sort of incapacitant). Possession of such WILL RESULT in Jail Time and Substantial Fines.
5. There are no car rentals in Bermuda and rental of mopeds is discouraged. The bus system is well organized and taxis are available 24-hours a day.
6. Bermuda is no different from other jurisdictions. There are "good" and "bad" areas. Please be vigilant and protect belongings at all times.
7. When out at night, only use main roads as they are generally well lit.
8. Always use Hotel Room Safes and no not leave valuables laying around
9. A passport is required to enter Bermuda. There is also a VISA requirement for citizens of some countries. Entry Visas require an application at your nearest British Embassy. A list of Visa controlled countries can be found on next page or going to http://www.gov.bm/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2_3306_214_512_43/http%3B/ptpublisher.gov.bm%3B7087/publishedcontent/publish/ministry_of_labour___haps/immigration/dept___immigration___passports_and_visa___link_to_visa/vcn_mar_06.pdf.
10. Average Temperature during March is 65 Degrees.
11. The legal drinking age is 18.
12. When at nightclubs, use common sense and never leave drinks unattended.
