Randle McMurphy thinks he’s beaten the system by getting himself
incarcerated in a state mental hospital instead of serving a prison term on
a work farm. His rebelliousness and charisma make him both hero and
savior to the other inmates, but he pays a high price when the terrifying
Nurse Ratched takes control. A gripping and unforgettable drama.

THE MASTER BUILDER By Henrik Ibsen Translated by Paul Walsh Directed by Ken Marini
People’s Light’s tradition of reinterpreting classics continues with this new translation of The Master Builder. At the height of his career, Halvard Solness fi nds his creativity threatened and his personal life in shambles. The unexpected arrival of the young, attractive and manipulative Hilda Wangel breathes new vitality into his work, but exacts a terrible cost.

October 13 – November 7, 2010True-life 18th century scientist Émilie du Châtelet, Voltaire’s lover and the translator of one of Issac Newton’s monumental works, and modern-day Olivia, also a scientist and on the verge of discovering a new planet, have more than just a passion for Isaac Newton in common. They live in separate times and many thousands of miles apart, but their lives and loves criss-cross in unexpected ways.
LEGACY OF LIGHT received a citation from The American Theatre Critics Association (ATCA) for the New Play Award, recognizing the best scripts which premiered professionally outside New York City during 2009.

The Three Musketeers
A Musical Panto
November 17, 2010 – January 9, 2011
Brought to you by the same basket of nutballs, sweeties and fruit cakes as SNOW WHITE and CINDERELLA.
By Kathryn Petersen Music and Lyrics by
Michael OgbornDirected by Pete Pryor
A six-character, four door-slamming comedy set in the offi ces of Putts, a golf magazine headed for corporate takeover. The exceedingly incompetent editorial staff, fearful of change and, most of all, of the dreaded “hatchetman,” descends into near hysteria, and offi ce politics shift into high gear. Hilarity ensues!

May 11 – June 5, 2011 The Broadway hit makes its Philadelphia premiere at People’s Light! In a small Texas town c. 1987 at the height of the oil recession, the Gordons are land rich, cash poor and grandly deluded. A crisis in the family forces these self-absorbed, endearingly dysfunctional brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and servants to agree on a course of action to steady what looks like a very uncertain future.
