Scales'stayatCornellwasprecededbyfouryearsasanassistantwiththeBigRed(1994-98);twoyearsasanassis-tantatHarvard(1992-94)andoneseasonasanassistantatPlattsburghState(1991-92)afterastellarcareeratHartwickCollege.

ScalesisalsoascoutfortheU.S.Men'sNationalTeamintheU.S.Developmen-talAcademyandservesasanassistantcoachwiththeU-15boysnationalteam.IntheMayof2009,ScaleshelpedleadtheU-15boystoa10-daytourofMoenchengla-dbach,Germany. Additionally,ScalesservesastheheadcoachoftheNewEnglandRevolutionU-16squad,whichhe,alongsideassistantcoachKarlSpratt,ledtothe2010U.S.SoccerDevelopmentAcademy(USSDA)NortheastRegionChampionshipandanap-pearanceintheUSSDAnationaltournamentinonlyitsthirdyear. Atwo-yearcaptain,Figueroawasoneof25DivisionI,IIandIIIplayersin-vitedtotryoutfortheNewEnglandRevo-lutioninFebruaryof2007.Hecurrentlyranks17thonUML'sall-timescoringlistwith12goalsand14assists(38points).
