1. Identify Trafficking Cases under current Legislation :
• Through the 2010 FWC AoJ project the role players in the provinces were encourage to participate in this training.
• Training was conducted in eight provinces included training on the various pieces of legislation that could be used in prosecuting perpetrators of human trafficking including
Statutory Offences related to trafficking in persons :• Sexual Offences Amendment Act 32 of 2007; • Children Act, 2005 (Act 38 of 2005); • Films and Publications Act, 1996 (Cat 85 of 1996; • Prevention of Organised Crime Act, 1998 (Act 121 of 1998) etc. • Human tissues Act 65 of 1983• Corruption Act 94 of 1992• Infringement of Immigration Act 13 of 1996• Refugee Act 130 of 1998• Extradition Act 67 of 1992

2. Refugees Act, 1998: Use of Asylum Law to protect victims of human trafficking
• In light of the potential of victims of human trafficking being deported back
to their country of origin if found without relevant travelling
documents,
the Portfolio Committee requested the Department of Home Affairs to
clarify whether asylum laws could be used to protect the victims pending
the prosecution of perpetrators.

3. Shelters for Victims of trafficking and contact details of Safe Houses: Progress
• 13 Shelters/Centres were identified for victims of trafficking. One shelter was identified in each province except for in KZN and Western Cape where two shelters/centres were identified and three in Gauteng. • The Shelters personnel received a two day orientation workshop on the implementation of the human trafficking rehabilitation programme in April 2010.
• The shelters were provided with a tool kit that includes amongst others: 9 Week Programme
• Four Modules on Structured Therapeutic Programmes were delivered to empower victims

4. Services for Victims of trafficking Progress

- The NGOs are trained to conduct an assessment of the families of victims of human trafficking to enable them to conduct a situation analysis of the condition that the victims will be re-integrated into.
- The aim of the training is to ensure sensitive repatriation or relocation of the victim back in her family and community
• The DSD developed as part of its FIFA World Cup Strategy the Standard Operating Procedures for victim which have been developed and have been distributed to the VEP Coordinators and Shelter Managers.

• The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development launched the “Red Card Campaign” on Human Trafficking. This was an indication of the political will to deal with Human Trafficking effectively by the Department.
• The Red Card Public Awareness Campaign led by the Inter-Departmental Management Team was implemented in conjunction with the CGE, FIFA, UNICEF and Community Based Organisations. The campaign included the “knock and drop” of publicity materials in homes and was mainly implemented through volunteers in Nelspruit during the media launch.
• A circular was published on the contents of Children’s Act 38 of 2005 on protecting children from human trafficking.

1. Background
The 2010 FIFA World Cup Administration of Justice Project was initiated to
determine the roles of the various IJS stakeholders; in particular the
Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DoJ&CD), the
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Legal Aid South Africa (LASA) and
the Judiciary, in ensuring the effective Administration of Justice during the
2010 FIFA World Cup and to integrate with other stakeholders/ stakeholder

3.1.2 The Safety and Security Project (project 15) was initiated as a sub-project to the overall 2009/ 2010 FIFA events. The AoJ project was allocated to project 15 with the view of adopting an integrated approach to the safety and security project. This process was implemented to ensure alignment of plans and to prevent duplication of activities and efforts.

Court Operational Centre (COC)• This structure was developed to monitor and manage all 2010 related
aspects in the dedicated courts, at court operational level.
