Dear Church Family and Friends,

I must say that this first year at Second has been a wonderful one. The ministry we have shared and the music we have offered to our Lord have been a true blessing for me and I hope for you as well.

This year you will see many of the same great programs and events that we all love with the addition of a few new ones. We are also thrilled to launch the Second Conservatory of Music. Through this program we will be committed to training up future musicians and helping people utilize their gifts for the glory of Christ’s Kingdom. Please see our website or request a brochure to register for lessons.

In addition to our events, we will also release a new CD with the 2PC Chancel Choir and Orchestra. Faith That Sings: Hymns We Love is a collection of 18 great hymns of faith, old and new. CD’s will be available in the Bookmark and online. We hope that it will enrich the worship life of our entire church family as we dwell on these hymns together throughout the church year.

We hope you will be blessed by the concerts and worship services we offer this year. Pray for us as we aim to give God our best in all these endeavors. Mark your calendars so you won’t miss a single event!

In Christ,

Dr. Gabriel C. StatomDirector of Music

Chancel Choir

As the cornerstone of the Music Ministry at Second, the

Chancel Choir’s mission is to bring glory to Jesus Christ

through music that reflects our faith through joyful worship

and excellence. A non-auditioned group, the choir meets on

Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9 p.m. and sings each week

at the 11 a.m. worship service.

Laudis Domini Ensemble

This auditioned, select ensemble specializes in singing the

great sacred repertoire intended for smaller groups such

as Renaissance and Baroque era music, British Cathedral

music, motets and part music.

Handbell Choir

For those who enjoy playing handbells, we have a group that

rehearses weekly on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and plays through-

out the church year. For more information, contact Terri

Theil at (901) 454-0034, ext. 171.

Westminster Singers

This ensemble sings each week at the 8:15 a.m. service and

it’s members are selected by the director from within the

Chancel Choir. This choir also prepares music for special

events and concerts.

Children’s and Youth Choirs

We offer a wide variety of opportunities for our children

and youth. Our goal is to not only teach them the basics of

Christian music, but to regularly utilize these groups in our

Sunday worship. Offerings are for ages 3 and up through

high school. Please visit www.2pc.org/music, for times and

meeting places of these various choirs.

Instrumental Ensembles

We strive to use a variety of instruments for our worship

services and special events. We hope to offer our members

who are gifted in playing an instrument an opportunity to

use their talents. Instrumentalists should contact the music

office to find ways to get involved.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON OUR MUSIC ENSEMBLES, CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.2PC.ORG/MUSIC, OR CALL THE MUSIC OFFICE AT (901) 454-0034, EXT. 125.
