Mr. E. Stanley Kroenke became owner of the Colorado Avalanche on July 6, 2000. In the team’s first season under his ownership, the Avalanche won the

Presidents’ Trophy and the Stanley Cup.

Since taking control of the Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and Pepsi Center, Mr. Kroenke has been widely recognized as one of the most respected owners in professional sports, as well as a strong and committed leader throughout the community.

Kroenke Sports Enterprises, Mr. Kroenke’s Denver-based company, also owns Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids and the National Lacrosse League’s Colorado Mammoth. His teams have hosted the 2001 NHL All-Star Game, the 2004 and 2009 NLL All-Star Games, the 2005 NBA All-Star Game and the 2007 MLS All-Star Game, bringing some of the world’s greatest athletes to Denver.

KSE’s dedication to success has been evidenced by the consistent playoff runs of its teams. The Avalanche has made the playoffs in 12 of its 14 seasons in Denver and defeated the New Jersey Devils in June 2001 to win the Stanley Cup, the second in franchise history (1996). The Avalanche won a record nine consecutive division titles from 1994-95 to 2002-03 and sold out 487 consecutive home games from 1995 to 2006, the longest recorded streak in NHL history.

The Nuggets returned to prominence with a remarkable turnaround under Mr. Kroenke’s leadership and are one of only three NBA teams to make the playoffs in each of the past seven seasons. The Mammoth has been a playoff participant in seven of its eight seasons and won the NLL championship in 2006.

In February 2007, Mr. Kroenke purchased a significant stake in Arsenal FC. He owns more than 29 percent of London’s storied football club. The initial investment came months after KSE and the Colorado Rapids formed a landmark marketing and strategic partnership with the famed Barclays Premier League club. The relationship has been further strengthened by the completion of KSE’s acquisition of 50 percent shareholding in Arsenal Broadband Limited. In September 2008, Mr. Kroenke was appointed to the Arsenal board as a non-executive director.

A native Missourian, Mr. Kroenke’s full ownership of the St. Louis Rams was approved in August 2010. As principal owner of the St. Louis Rams, Mr. Kroenke looks forward to the challenge of rebuilding an organization that wins consistently.

Under Mr. Kroenke’s direction, KSE completed three of the company’s most ambitious projects to date. On April 7, 2007 KSE opened the largest soccer-specific complex in the world, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The state-of-the-art sports facility on more than 160 acres in Commerce City, Colo., seats 18,000 fans for field sports and up to 27,000 for concerts. The award-winning field at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park has been heralded as “one of the finest pitches in the world” by numerous international players and coaches who have played at the complex. In November 2008, the stadium hosted Colorado’s first-ever World Cup qualifier between USA and Guatemala.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park also includes 24 surrounding playing fields for youth and adult recreational sports such as soccer, lacrosse and rugby. The complex anchors the 917-acre Prairie Gateway site that is a public-private partnership between KSE and Commerce City. The site is host to the Commerce City municipal hall, retail facilities, offices for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and a visitors’ center for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. The project has created hundreds of jobs in the community and is expected to generate thousands more as the growth continues.

Altitude Sports & Entertainment, a 24-hour regional television network began operation in September 2004, becoming the new television home for the Avalanche and Nuggets. Altitude also features other professional, collegiate and high school sporting events, as well as outdoors and lifestyle programming, entertainment and community interest coverage throughout the Rocky Mountain West.

TicketHorse became the official and exclusive ticket provider for both primary and secondary ticket sales for all KSE properties in July 2009. TicketHorse is committed to the highest standards of service to buyers and sellers, ticketing millions of consumers throughout Colorado.

One of KSE’s primary focuses has been the Colorado community and civic causes. More than $15.5 million in contributions have been made to Colorado charities through Kroenke Sports Charities and the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche Community Funds.

Kroenke Sports Enterprises purchased the Paramount Theatre, a historic landmark in downtown Denver, in July 2002. The venerable theatre remains a vibrant, multi-event facility where Denver residents and visitors enjoy a wide variety of entertainment ranging from classic concerts to family shows, dance productions, comedic performances and charitable events each year. Pepsi Center and the Paramount Theatre are home to more than 250 events annually including world renowned concerts such as Madonna, Celine Dion, U2 and Lady Gaga.

Peak Entertainment, LLC, a joint venture of Kroenke Sports Enterprises and AEG Live Rocky Mountains, opened 1STBANK Center together in March 2010. The multi-use arena accommodates up to 6,500 people for a mixture of events located in Broomfield, Colo.

Mr. Kroenke’s enthusiasm and vision ensure that Denver will continue to be the top entertainment destination in the Rocky Mountain region for generations to come. Local media outlets have consistently named Mr. Kroenke one of the most significant people in the Denver arts and entertainment community, saying “No other person entertains more people more often.”

In August of 2008, Pepsi Center played host to the Democratic National Convention. Tens of thousands of delegates, journalists, volunteers and patrons descended on Denver and the Pepsi Center for the Convention. The landmark event ranks as one of the most important in KSE and Colorado history. Millions of people around the

world watched the Convention, which city officials estimated boosted the local economy by nearly $270 million.

Mr. Kroenke is chairman and owner of The Kroenke Group, a private real estate investment and development company with properties located throughout the United States and Canada. Over the past two decades, he has built a reputation as one of the nation’s leading real estate developers. One of the largest ranch property owners in North America, Mr. Kroenke’s ownership stakes also includes the Screaming Eagle and Jonata vineyards.

Mr. Kroenke’s current and former board and trustee memberships include Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Central Bank Holding Company, Boone County National Bank, Community Investments Partnership of St. Louis, the College of the Ozarks, and the Missouri Basketball Hall of Fame. He is a member of St. Louis’ Civic Progress, which provides support and leadership for various community improvements that promote economic development, education and quality of life. In February 2009, Mr. Kroenke was enshrined into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Mr. Kroenke holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Ann, have a daughter, Whitney, an award winning documentary film producer; and a son, Josh, Governor of the Colorado Avalanche and Governor and President of the Denver Nuggets.

Josh Kroenke is enter-ing his first season as Governor of the Colora-do Avalanche. He also serves as President of the Denver Nuggets.

Kroenke has spent the past three years working in the Nuggets’ front office, most recently as the Vice President of Team Develop-ment. He has been involved in every aspect of the or-ganization’s day-to-day operations and helped Denver enjoy the most successful three-year stretch in team history, with three consecutive 50-win seasons and two division titles. In addition to his role with the Nuggets, Kroenke worked closely with KSE’s executive commit-tee on multiple business operation issues, ranging from finance to marketing.

After graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in financial management, he completed a six-month internship with the NBA’s League Office working in their Player Development Department. Upon finish-

ing his internship, Kroenke worked as an underwriter for Lehman Brothers in their Global Real Estate Group where he assisted with the debt underwriting and se-curitization of numerous commercial real estate trans-actions.

Kroenke was rated a top 50 player nationally in high school according to several scouting services and helped lead the Rock Bridge High School Boys’ basket-ball team to a No. 1 ranking in the state of Missouri as a junior. Kroenke received a full basketball scholarship to the University of Missouri, where he was named Aca-demic All-Big XII First Team and selected team captain as a junior and senior.

Away from the Avalanche and Nuggets, Kroenke is in-volved in several charitable entities, including the Todd Peglow Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Missouri. He is also a major supporter of the Playing For Change Foundation, which is operated by his sis-ter, Whitney, and benefits children worldwide through the building of schools that specialize in the teaching of music and arts.

Pierre Lacroix enters his 16th season over-seeing the Avalanche/Nordiques franchise.

As General Manager from 1994-95 to 2005-

06, Lacroix built the foundation of one of the finest decades of any team in NHL and major league sports history. In 2006, he stepped aside as GM but continued his role as president of the team.

Lacroix’s resume speaks for itself: an NHL record nine consecutive division titles; six appearances in the Western Conference Finals; two Presidents’ Trophies (1996-97, 2000-01); two Western Conference Cham-pionships (1996, 2001) and two Stanley Cup Champi-onships (1996, 2001).

In recognition of his achievements, Pierre was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame on April 8, 2008.

“Looking back now, as proud as I am of the banners and the trophies, I can tell you I’m most proud of the identity that every coach and player who wore the ‘A’ helped to create,” said Lacroix to close out his induction speech. “I came to Colorado with a dream and a vision for the hockey fans in Denver and throughout the state to have more than just a team they could call their own; I wanted them to embrace the idea of the Avalanche. I wanted the name and logo to stand for something more than just uniforms, more than just a game. In my mind, I wanted it to stand for a commitment to excellence and to represent class and character.”

The Avalanche franchise became very popular in its inaugural season in Denver en route to capturing the 1996 Stanley Cup, the city’s first major sports champi-onship. From November 9, 1995 to October 14, 2006, the Avalanche registered a sellout streak of 487 con-secutive games, the longest recorded streak in NHL history.

Lacroix was named General Manager of the Quebec Nordiques on May 24, 1994. Under his leadership, the organization compiled a record of 473-259-106-30, the NHL’s second highest winning percentage in that span (.623). In fact, only six other franchises in the four major sports (out of a total of 122 teams) posted a higher winning percentage than the Nordiques/Ava-lanche during that time frame.

Over his nearly 40 years in the professional hockey industry, Lacroix has seen personal success on both sides of the bargaining table. Prior to joining the Nor-diques, Lacroix spent 21 years as one of the most re-vered player agents in the business. Lacroix was the founder of JANDEC, Inc., which specialized in player representation. He cut all ties with JANDEC, Inc., when he moved on to the National Hockey League, and the firm still operates to this day.

Following his first season as GM in 1994-95, Lacroix was faced with the challenge of moving the franchise to Colorado. He had a mere 60 days to turn the Quebec Nordiques into the Colorado Avalanche, hire new per-sonnel, and become a fully operational organization in time for the start of the 1995-96 season.

During the first half of the ’96 campaign, Lacroix ac-quired Claude Lemieux, Sandis Ozolinsh and Patrick Roy in separate trades, vaulting Colorado to the top of the NHL. For his efforts, he was named the 1996 Executive of the Year by The Hockey News. Lacroix was promoted to President and General Manager during that summer.

The Avalanche enjoyed its most successful season in franchise history in 2000-01, setting new marks in wins (52) and points (118) en route to the franchise’s second Presidents’ Trophy. The Avalanche, built through keen drafting and shrewd trades, which brought the likes of Ray Bourque and Rob Blake to Colorado, propelled its way to the Stanley Cup Championship that season.

Off the ice, Lacroix’s drive for the organization to be involved in community and charitable endeavors spawned the Colorado Avalanche Charity Fund (CACF), which was recognized nationally for its contributions to the Denver area. The CACF distributed more than $11 million to Colorado charities from 1995-2006. In-cluded was Lacroix’s inspired “Legacy Project,” which celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Avalanche in Denver by distributing $1 million in grants to 10 Denver charities in one night.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Pierre and his wife, Co-lombe, reside in Denver. They have two sons, Martin and Eric, and are the proud grandparents of Max, Mia and Ty.

Greg Sherman was named General Manager of the Avalanche on June 3, 2009 and enters his second season in that role. He added the

title of Executive Vice President in the summer of 2010.

Prior to being named GM, Sherman, 40, spent the previ-ous seven years as the team’s Assistant General Man-ager. He has been associated with the franchise for the last 14 years.

In Sherman’s first season of running the franchise in 2009-10, the Avalanche enjoyed the second-best turn-around of any team in the NHL, improving by 26 points to secure a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Colorado became the first Western Conference team to make the playoffs after finishing last in the conference the previous year since the league expanded to 30 teams in 2000-01.

Head coach Joe Sacco, Sherman’s first hire as GM, was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s coach of the year, while goaltender Craig Anderson, Sherman’s first free agent signing, went on to set franchise records in numerous categories.

Colorado’s top two draft choices, Matt Duchene and Ryan O’Reilly, both spent the entire season with the Avalanche, with Duchene being named to the NHL All-Rookie Team.

In just his first few weeks on the job, Sherman hired a new coaching staff, restructured the hockey operations department and announced the selection of Duchene as the third overall pick in the 2009 Entry Draft. He also appointed a new coaching staff for Colorado’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.

Sherman was instrumental in helping to launch the Ava-lanche’s affiliation with Lake Erie in 2007, and served as the liaison between the two franchises over the first two seasons.

Born in Scranton, Pa., Sherman was raised in Denver and has spent most of his life in Colorado. After graduat-ing from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colo., Sherman received his bachelor’s degree from the Univer-sity of San Diego in 1992.

Greg and his wife, Tamara, reside in Highlands Ranch with daughters Katelyn (9) and Delaney (6).

Joe Sacco begins his second season as the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. He was named the fifth head coach in Avalanche history, and the 13th in franchise history on June 4, 2009.

Sacco, 41, was a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s coach of the year in his rookie season behind the bench in 2009-10. He guided the Avalanche to a 43-30-9 record (95 points), a second-place finish in the Northwest Division and a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avs became the first Western Conference team to make the playoffs after finishing last in the conference the previous year since the league expanded to 30 teams in 2000-01. Colorado, which had only 69 points in 2008-09, posted the league’s second-best turaround (+26) behind only Phoenix (+28).

The Avalanche was one of the youngest teams in the NHL and got more production from its rookies than any other club. Colorado made the postseason despite 352 man games lost due to injury, second most in the NHL.

Sacco’s 43 wins were the second most by a rookie head coach in franchise history, just one shy of Bob Hartley’s 44 victories in 1998-99. The Avs were 10-1-2 in their first 13 games under Sacco, which tied him for the second-best record through the first 13 games as a head coach in NHL history.

The 2010-11 campaign marks his sixth season with the organization. Prior to leading the Avalanche, Sacco spent two seasons as head coach of Colorado’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters. He also spent two years as an assistant coach with the AHL’s Lowell Lock Monsters in 2005-06 and Albany River Rats in 2006-07.

Under Sacco’s guidance, the Lake Erie Monsters finished with a 34-38-3-5 record (76 points) in 2008-09, posting eight more wins and 11 more points than they did in their inaugural season of 2007-08.

Sacco has also gained coaching experience at the international level, as he has served as an assistant coach for Team USA at each of the last two IIHF World Championships (2009 and 2010).

Sacco was a fourth-round pick (71st overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1987 Entry Draft. He appeared in 738 total games over his 13-year career in the National Hockey League, which included stints with Toronto, Anaheim, the New York Islanders, Washington and Philadelphia. The right winger finished with 94 goals and 119 assists for 213 points.

Born in Medford, Mass., Joe attended Boston University, where he played a total of 111 games over three years. Sacco played for the United States at the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, where the Americans finished fourth. He would go on to play for Team USA in six World Championships.

Joe and his wife, Tammy, have three children, Joseph (14), Matthew (11) and Christina (6).
