Financial Aid

Financial Aid 101 What happens after I complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA? •  The Office of Student Financial Aid will calculate your

aid based upon the information provided by you and your parent(s).

•  An Award letter detailing how much you can receive in aid for the year will be mailed to your home address and is accessible through Pipeline. This is your maximum eligibility for the year.

Financial Aid 101 What does it mean when I’m selected for verification? •  This means the school is required to verify the financial

information on your FAFSA.

•  You will be required to turn in a signed copy of your 2008 federal tax return, a signed copy of your parent(s) federal tax return, and complete a 2009-2010 Verification Worksheet. Remember to place your name and ID number on all documentation.

•  Check Pipeline regularly to monitor your financial aid processing status.

Financial Aid 101 Why do I receive a bill if I am receiving financial aid?

•  All students receive a billing statement for charges incurred from registering for classes & living in the residential hall.

•  The billing statement lists charges, estimated financial aid disbursements, along with the resulting credit or balance for that semester.

Student Financial Aid.

Financial Aid 101 When will Fall 2009 disbursements begin?

•  Fall 2009 financial aid disbursements (i.e. payment) will begin August 25, 2009.

•  Fall disbursements will continue as students are packaged with financial aid funds.

Financial Aid 101 How will I receive my financial aid funds?

•  Financial aid funds are first disbursed to your student account balance.

•  Any funds remaining (not tuition restricted) either a direct deposit is made or a check is generated and mailed to the address students list on PIPELINE.

o  Students can enroll in the Direct Deposit Program. If you do not a check is generated and mailed.

o  Funds are received within 48 hours with Direct Deposit. o  Funds are received within 5 – 7 business days with the mailing of

checks.

Financial Aid 101 How do I maintain financial aid eligibility?

•  Your academic performance can affect your continued financial aid eligibility.

  Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.   Students must successfully complete at least 67% of the

coursework each year.   Students lose financial aid eligibility when the cumulative number

of credit hours attempted is equal or greater than 150% of the minimum credits required for graduation.

Registration Presentation

Ready to Register? •  Know your Access

I.D. (xy1234) and your student number (001234567).

•  If you created a new password for Pipeline, you’ll need it to register.

•  Forgot these codes? Inform your Warrior Orientation Leader

Now you’re ready to begin!

I.  Go to www.classschedule.wayne.edu

II.  Make sure it says Fall Term 2009

III.  Go to course/subjects

IV.  Select a course based on the subject.

For example: Political Science

Now select a Political Science course

(or course you chose) that is required for your major . . .

V. Find a class time that fits your schedule.

NOTE: If you’re interested in being on the main Wayne State campus, beware of the location

you select.

For example: The class highlighted is not on the main

campus.

You also need to note that the class you desire is OPEN in the status column. This is the only

way the class is available to you.

VI. Once you’ve found the class, click on the “Add to Cart”

link for that class.

This allows you to place your class in a shopping cart and

save it while you look for other classes.

Notice it has your CRN #, course you selected, dates

and times they meet, the day the class starts and ends,

where it’s at, and lastly if the class is even open.

The shopping cart is also helpful because it allows you

to see if classes overlap each other. If classes show

up in orange, you need to change the times around or

chose a different class.

VII. Now you can go back to Courses/Subjects and look for the rest of your classes.

When registering for a class with a Lecture and Lab, be sure that you select the Lecture (LCT) class as well as the Lab/Quiz section.

Ultimately you are registering for two classes.

VIII. Once you have all your courses selected, make sure they are the right courses you want, are located where and when you

want them, and not conflicting. Once you are satisfied, write down the CRN numbers pertaining to each class.

NOTE: 12-18 credits = Full time

1-11 credits = Part time

WAIT YOU’RE STILL NOT REGISTERED ! !

IX.  Pull up a new window on your computer

X.  Type in www.pipeline.wayne.edu

XI.  Use your AccessID and Password you created to enter Pipeline

XII.  Click the Student Tab

XIII.  Click Register/Add/Drop

XIV. Select “Register – Add/Drop Classes”

XV. Make sure it reads “Fall 2009” in the Select Term Box

XVI. Put the CRN #s from your shopping cart in the boxes on Pipeline and then click submit.

Now let’s print out your schedule

You have two choices

This allows you to see when your classes are each day,

what time, and where.

This allows you to see when your classes are, where, what time,

and who your professor is.
