ExplorerResidential Program for rising 3rd-5th gradersExplorer is a fun-fi lled co-ed residential program that features a variety of activities to create memories for a lifetime! Campers experience canoeing, arts and crafts, outdoor sports, archery, disc golf, hiking, environmental education, campfi res and much more! Explorer runs Sunday thru Friday. This experience is limited to 16 campers per one week session. All lodging, meals, activities, equipment, and materials are provided for a week of summer camp they’ll never forget! Tuition: $390.

VoyagerResidential Program for rising 5th-7th gradersVoyager is an exciting co-ed residential program that en-gages participants in activities such as: canoeing, climbing tower, low and high challenge course, arts and crafts, off site rock climbing, mountain boarding, disc golf, archery, and environmental education. The experience is limited to 16 campers per one-week session. Tuition includes all meals, lodging, activities, and equipment. Horseback rid-ing is also available for an additional fee of $32.00 which will be collected by check or cash the day of program check-in. Tuition: $420.

AdventureResidential Program for rising 7th-9th gradersThese six-day programs will immerse campers into a total outdoor experience. Participants will be based at Camp Roanoke and will embark upon new adventures daily from the following list: low and high challenge course, rock climbing, sit-on top kayaking, mountainboarding, caving, environmental education and arts and crafts. This program is limited to 12 campers per session. Tuition includes all meals, lodging, equipment, and activities for the entire week. Tuition: $450. .

TreksAdventure for rising 8th-12th gradersChoose between two exciting off-site adventures led by Camp Roanoke’s staff. Travel to West Virginia for a week of whitewater rafting, rock-climbing and hiking. The New River Gorge area features some of the country’s premiere climbing and rapids. OR, explore the beaches and intercostal waterways of North Carolina in a sea kayak, surfi ng and hiking adventure. Professional instruction, meals, and equipment provided. Campers must pass an intermediate swim test. Tuition for Climbing is $510. Tuition for Kayaking is $605.

Camp Roanoke Discover y CampDay Camp for rising K-5th gradersThis program gives participants going into Kindergarten-5th Grade, a true taste of camp life during daytime hours. Don’t miss this opportunity for your camper to participate in archery, disc golf, arts and crafts, fi eld games, environmental educa-tion, special events, outdoor living skills and much more! Super Summer Teen Camp

New!Roanoke County’s newest camp is the perfect camp for parents look-ing to entertain and educate their children for the entire day during the summer doing something every child enjoys…. SPORTS!! Campers will spend their morning immersed in the week’s sport theme, and then bused to Penn Forest Elementary School to participate in typical camp activities such as arts, crafts, cooking and games led by an ener-getic and experienced staff. Campers are required to bring their own bag lunch to camp. For kids entering grades 2 through 6. Fee: $175. Call 857-5036.

World Music CampAge: 8 to ADULT. Groove and dance to the beat as you learn to play exciting music and rhythms from the Ca-ribbean and Japan. This camp is designed especially for family participation and is open to ages 8 through adult, with no previous experience necessary. Participants will be totally ‘hands-on’ as they learn to play music on Caribbean steel drums, and perform rhythmic routines on Japanese Taiko drums. All materials and instruments are provided. It’s a full day of music, culture and fun! Individual rate is $50. Up to 4 family members may sign up as a group for only $60 by calling 772-PLAY.

Dance CampAge: 8 to ADULT. Dance Camp is an intensive, creativedance program designed to introduce dance to the novice as well as strengthen the dance student. Roa-noke Ballet Theatre’s unique instructors will guide the student through the basics of dance. The student’s dance technique will grow; student’s dance education will benefi t; and the time will contribute to the quality of the student’s performance. Course #13873 focuses on ballet, pointe, variations and jazz. Course #13883 focuses on modern technique, improvisation, choreog-raphy, and repertory. Write Right CampCome learn to write your letters the cool way. Movement, art, and song will encourage your child to write better. Mechanics of handwriting are em-phasized without your children even realizing they are learning. Before they even know it, they are learning to write and will be one step ahead for the next school year. They will work on fi ne mo-tor skills, pencil grasp, and letter formation using games, crafts , and multi-sensory activities.

Volleyball CampAge: 10-14. Have a child who is interested in playing volleyball, but have no idea where to begin? Golf Camp at First Tee of RoanokeAge: 8-12. Do you want your child to learn a sport that they will be able to play for the rest of their life? Send them to a week long camp led by Golf Profession-als from First Tee of Roanoke, where they will learn the proper fundamentals needed to begin playing golf. The fi rst three days of the camp will focus on learning the basic club grip, swing, putting, chipping, golf etiquette, and life skills. The last day campers will have the opportunity to compete for special awards and prizes. Campers are required to bring their own age appropriate equipment to camp. A limited number of loaner club sets are avail-able.

Lacrosse Camp for BoysAge: 7-12. Does your child love sports but wants to try something new? If so, we have the perfect camp for them! Our youth lacrosse camp is a great place for any young lacrosse player to improve their skills, get great exercise, make new friends and most importantly to have fun! Our camps are designed to give players the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to compete in lacrosse on a recreational level. Every aspect of the game is covered, including rules, fundamental skills and sportsmanship. The camp is ‘’non-contact’’ lacrosse so there is no need for pads. Helmets will be provided. Please bring a lacrosse stick.
