Home Run DerbyRULES

3 rounds, 10 outs per roundOut: any swing that is not a home run.

Round 1:• Each player will have 10 outs.• Order of hitting will be reverse order of regular

season home run total, alternating by division affiliation.Northfirst,southsecond.

• Top 4 advance to Round 2, regardless of division.• Home runs will carry over to Round 2, tie breaker

HR’s will not.

Round 2:• Each player will have 10 outs.• Players in Round Two hit in reverse order of tally in

RoundOne(playerwithmosthomerunsinfirstroundhits last).

• Top 2 with highest number of home runs in Round 2 and Round 1 combined advance to Round Three.

Championship Round:• Each player will have 10 outs.• Home Runs Will Not Carry Over to Championship

Round.• Ofthe2finalists,hitterthathitfirstinRound2willhit

first.• Player with the most HR’s during the championship

round will be the Winner.

In the event of a tie after each round: Each player will have 5 outs and will continue until the tie is broken after each increment of 5.

2010On August 18, 1910, Rickwood Field opened to an over-flow crowd and much fan fair, as the home team Barons defeated rival Montgomery, 3-2. In the following decades,

Rickwood Field hosted the play of baseball’s greats, and established firmly its place in American culture. In 2010, in a year-long series of special events, the Friends of Rickwood and the Birmingham baseball community will celebrate Rickwood’s 100th anniversary.
