Session objectives
Locating the links section
• On the Community Door primary navigation, click on “Networks”
• 2 ways to select a link– Click on “Links” from the drop down box– In the centre content section click on “Links”
Easy selection
• Use the A to Z listing to jump to a particular link
• A short paragraph is provided with each link, to help you make a decision about whether the information on that site will be of assistance.
External links on Community Door
• All links on the Community Door website open in the same browser window
• Links to sites outside of Community Door are marked with an “external links” icon
• When you see this icon, you’ll know that link will take you away from Community Door
Returning to Community Door
• To return to Community Door, use the back button on your web browser
Alternatively• Click on the arrow next to the back button to view
a history of recent web pages. • Select Community Door from that list.
External links – new windows• If you wish to keep your browser open with
Community Door, and open another external link you can do so
• Right click on the link• From the pop up menu in Internet Explorer,
select “open in new window”
