TESTINGOver 25 years of minivan testing and refinement helped Chrysler develop the best

Town & Country possible. Its longer, straighter frame rails dissipate and displace

more impact energy away from occupants. Optimizing applications of high-strength

steel also facilitates less intrusion into the passenger compartment. Total vehicle

functionality tests were conducted in Fahrenheit temperature conditions from as low

as -20 degrees up to 110 degrees. Town & Country’s all-new design also features

improved aerodynamics after testing in our 100-mph wind tunnel. As part of a

rigorous noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) evaluation, Chrysler’s four-post

shaker was used to further pinpoint and reduce simulated road noise.

A vehicle this quiet and efficient could not have been built without the benefit of tireless

testing. In fact, the all-new Town & Country logged mile upon brutal mile of testing without

ever leaving the building. Instead of being loaded onto transporters for the traditional,

arduous journey to the Arizona Proving Grounds, engineers drove the new minivan design

along even more challenging routes utilizing computer simulation. Their findings led to

changes in body structure, new rear wheelhouse and fender silencers, and the targeted use

of polyurethane foam. It is all a part of our commitment to reduce the level of foreign sounds

inside the latest incarnation of the world-renowned legend that is Town & Country.

SAFETY AND SECURITYChrysler brought the original minivan into existence nearly 25 years ago. And year after year,

Town & Country has earned a distinguished reputation for safety.

➤ The standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP)* with Brake Assist and traction control

constantly monitors the driver’s input against the vehicle’s actual course

and, if needed, attempts to correct the vehicle’s course by automatically

applying the brake and/or reducing engine torque. Working together with

ESP and the antilock brake system (ABS), the Brake Assist program applies

maximum pressure to the brake system in the event of a panic stop.

➤ Advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags† provide front-

seat impact protection. Standard side-curtain air bags† extend protection

to passengers in all outboard positions of all three rows.

➤ HID headlamps, standard on Town & Country Limited, help spot trouble at night sooner with

twice the light intensity.

➤ Standard side-guard door beams add extra protection in the event of a side impact.

➤ Available power liftgate, power-sliding driver-side door, and power-sliding passenger-side door

are all equipped with an Obstacle Detection System.‡ This system is capable of detecting most

obstacles in the path of a closing liftgate or door and will automatically stop and reverse the

power-closing operation.

➤ The Sliding Door Alert System, standard on all manual and power sliding doors, warns other
