In five seasons at LSU, Yvette Girouard’s effect on theTiger softball program has been powerful. With each year, she continues to add to her legacy as one of the greatestcoaches in the history of women's softball by helping LSUmaintain its place among the nation's elite in the collegiateranks.

Girouard, who was inducted into the Louisiana SoftballCoaches Association Hall of Fame in June 2002 and theNational Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame inDecember 2005, ranks fifth among the career leaders inNCAA Division I wins and winning percentage and fifthamong the active NCAA Division I coaching leaders inwins and winning percentage.

With 24-straight winning seasons to her credit, she hasguided her athletes to 35 All-America honors, includingseven while at LSU, 14 Academic All-America honors andtaken her teams to 14 NCAA Regionals.

No stranger to Oklahoma City, Girouard became justthe third coach in NCAA history to take two programs tothe Women’s College World Series after leading ULL tothree WCWS appearances in the 1990s and LSU in 2001and 2004.

While her influence has been a catalyst for the growthof the game in the state and nationally for many years, herimpact in just five years in Baton Rouge has been no lesssignificant. Becoming the first coach in SoutheasternConference history to lead a team to back-to-back tourna-ment championships, Girouard made a clean sweep ofthe three major league titles (SEC Western Division, SECChampionship, SEC Tournament Championship) in threeof her first four seasons as a Tiger.a
