Welcome to the Ocean Reef Club and the 2005 SportfishingSummit, the American Sportfishing Association’s membershipmeeting and its premier networking event.

From special sessions to business workshops to association committee meetings, the 2005 Sportfishing Summit provides amyriad of opportunities to gain information on the most relevantissues facing the sportfishing industry as well as practical knowledge to help you develop and manage your business. Weparticularly encourage you to participate in the ASA Committeemeetings in order to gain a better understanding of how the ASA staff and your colleagues work on your behalf.

The Ocean Reef Club is a great venue for our meeting. Aside from the sessions and meetings, there are many opportunities to network with your friends and colleagues during evening receptions and fishing and golf excursions. We also want to welcome the spouses who are attending the Summit and we hope you enjoy the special event that we have planned for youthis year. The ASA and hotel staff will do their best to ensure your time here is an enjoyable one.

FishingThere is great fishing in the waters surrounding Ocean Reef aswell as great diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, sailing and wind-surfing. Guides, instructors, charter boats and equipment for allthese sports are available through the Club’s Water Activities desk.

All fishing charters leave from the marina in the Fishing Village. If you pre-registered for fishing, please check the fishingschedule in the ASA hospitality suite to confirm your booking.If you reserved a trip directly through the Club, check in with theCharter desk at extension 5920.

GolfOcean Reef offers two, well-maintained 18-hole championship golfcourses. A driving range, two practice greens, a golf clubhouse, a fully-equipped pro shop that has been recognized as one of the best in North America and a staff of dedicated professionalscomplete the Ocean Reef’s golf offerings.

Fitness CenterOcean Reef’s Marina Health Center is equipped with tread mills,stair machines, bicycles, free weights and Life Fitness Equipmentand other amenities. The Health Center is located adjacent to the Marina and is complimentary to both members and guests 16 years of age and older.

TransportationThe front desk/bell stand can arrange for a cart to take you any-where on the property at any time of the day and golf carts areavailable for rent. Carts can be reserved by dialing extension 2370.

Dress RequirementsDining AttireThe more casual restaurants, such as the family-style Galley the Raw Bar and The Islander, require a collared shirt and dresstrousers for gentlemen (walking shorts during the summer— May1-October 31) in the evening. The outdoor Palm Court, adjacent to the pool, requires shoes, shirts and bathing suit cover-ups.

Casual and Sports AttireCollared shirts are required on our golf courses and tennis courts.Sporting shorts are acceptable in the appropriate activity areas.Ocean Reef asks that you remember traditional white attire if yourplans include croquet.

Bathing AttireBathing attire requires cover-ups and shoes for any area beyondthe pool. Thong-style suits are inconsistent with the Club’s familyenvironment and are, therefore, inappropriate.

Unacceptable AttireTank tops, tank-style undershirts and jogging tops for men, cropand jogging tops for women, frayed cut-offs and tattered jeans are not acceptable attire. Shirts are required at all times in all public areas other than the pool. Gentlemen are expected toremove hats while indoors. We also ask that your guests and children over 12 years of age be attired to the code.
