UPSCALE AMENITIES.TRAVEL FIRST CLASS. The Yukon Denali features a Bose®
Premium nine-speaker sound system that provides remarkably
pure audio performance, complemented by a standard console-
mounted six-disc CD changer. What’s more, eight steering-wheel
buttons are at your fingertips, providing redundant operation of the
audio system and convenient access to the Driver Information
Center and OnStar1. Finally, you may choose the available touch-
screen Navigation Radio, which includes a full-featured navigation
system as well as an integrated AM/FM stereo and CD player.
VORTEC ENGINE TECHNOLOGY.VORTEC ENGINES OFFER THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS. Power, efficiency and durability—Vortec Engines have got
it all. The key to their remarkable performance is the Vortec cylinder head, which has a unique design that swirls and tumbles the
intake charge, improving the air/fuel mix to enhance performance. A variety of advanced designs further contribute to their capabilities.
A composite intake manifold helps keep the intake air cool to provide more power. Coil-Near-Plug ignition produces a reliable, efficient
spark for up to 100,000 miles.1 An inline, or planar, valve train helps reduce stress and allows use of light, quiet components. And
the fuel-injection system aims the fuel spray precisely at the intake valve to optimize mix and combustion.

THE MOST HORSEPOWER IN THEIR CLASS.2 Featuring a specially tuned Vortec
6000 V8 Engine with an impressive 335 horsepower, the Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali
offer the most horsepower in their class.2 The Yukon, Yukon XL and Yukon XL 3/4-ton are avail-
able with a choice of powerful Vortec V8 Engines. Every one offers outstanding power and
torque for stress-free trailering and smooth, powerful acceleration.

18 SURPRISINGLY AGILE HANDLING.PRECISION HANDLING AND A COMFORTABLE RIDE. Along with the technology
described below, a number of features combine to help produce Yukon’s responsiveness. The chassis
on 1/2-ton models uses hydroformed front and rear rails for strength and structural integrity, with tubu-
lar cross-members to reduce shakes and rattles. A torsion bar front suspension system helps improve
ride quality and isolate you from bumps. Half-ton models also feature five-link rear suspension with coil
springs and upper and lower control arms for improved handling and reduced transfer of road shock to
the cabin. Yukon 3/4-ton models feature two-stage leaf springs, more suitable for heavy-duty trailering.
ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
The Yukon Denali and Yukon XL
Denali’s all-wheel-drive system bal-
ances the torque between the front
and rear axles, using a transfer case
that operates similarly to an auto-
matic transmission. All-wheel drive
is always activated, so you don’t
have to fuss with controls to enjoy
the benefits of improved handling
and control.
AUTORIDE1 SUSPENSION
Autoride is a sophisticated suspension
system that automatically senses and
reacts to different driving conditions
by selecting the appropriate suspen-
sion damping on 1/2-ton models. The
Autoride package includes automatic
load-leveling shock absorbers to main-
tain vehicle height when fully loaded.
The result is enhanced control as well
as a remarkably comfortable ride.
STABILITRAK®
StabiliTrak2 is an engineering advance
that helps your Yukon respond more
accurately and predictably to your
steering commands. Sensors read
the position of your steering wheel,
vehicle speed, brake pressure, lateral
acceleration and turning rate, then
feed the data to an onboard com-
puter. If your Yukon is not responding
adequately to your steering input,
the computer instantly adjusts eng-
ine speed and brake pressure to any
individual wheel to help keep you
on track.
AGILITY ABOVE ALL
QUADRASTEER™ by Delphi Auto-
motive four-wheel steering is avail-
able on the Yukon XL 3/4-ton, which
was the first full-size SUV to offer
four-wheel steering. It provides a
level of agility you literally have to
drive to believe. Four-wheel steer-
ing reduces the Yukon XL’s turning
diameter to 36.5 feet — equal to
that of a compact sedan. But the
benefits don’t end with low-speed
agility. QUADRASTEER is especially
valuable when towing a trailer. In
4WS tow mode, the system lets the
rear wheels act as a steering axle
for the trailer, letting the trailer act-
ually change lanes in unison with
your Yukon XL.
If understeer occurs (at left) StabiliTrak appliesinside front brake to correct steering.
If fishtailing occurs (at right) StabiliTrak appliesoutside front brake to correct steering.
1Autoride suspension is available on Yukon andYukon XL SLT models and is standard on YukonDenali and Yukon XL Denali. 2StabiliTrak is avail-able on 2WD and 4WD Yukon and Yukon XL 1/2-ton models; it is standard on Yukon Denali andYukon XL Denali.
PROFESSIONAL GRADE SAFETY ENGINEERING.SAFE & SECURE PACKAGE
An available Safe & Secure pack-
age includes side-impact air bags,
the innovative StabiliTrak1 vehicle
stability enhancement system and
the technically sophisticated Auto-
ride suspension system. (Each option
is available separately. All three op-
tions are standard on Yukon Denali
and Yukon XL Denali.)
ADVANCED AIR BAG SYSTEM
Standard dual-stage frontal air bags
and available side-impact air bags help
reduce the risk of injuries in a collision.2
A standard Passenger Sensing System
automatically turns the passenger-side
air bag on or off based on occupant
weight and position.A status indicator
in the rearview mirror lets you know
if the right-side air bag is on or off.
ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
Large disc brake rotors and a gen-
erous brake-pad swept area provide
excellent braking power. The stan-
dard antilock braking system helps
you maintain steering control under
hard-braking situations.
STABILITRAK
StabiliTrak1 uses sensors to read
the position of your steering wheel,
vehicle speed, brake pressure, lateral
acceleration and turning rate. If it
determines that your Yukon is not
responding adequately to your steer-
ing input, the computer adjusts engine
speed and brake pressure to any indi-
vidual wheel to help keep you on track.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR
An advanced tire pressure moni-
toring system on 1/2-ton models
keeps track of your vehicle’s tire
pressure and alerts you to low
pressure through the Driver Infor-
mation Center — indicating exactly
which t ire is low. It’s one more
way Yukon helps keep you safe
and sound.
SMART MIRRORS
The standard interior rearview
mirror has auto-dimming and a
front-passenger air -bag status
indicator. Heated outside rearview
mirrors defog and defrost and
include ground illumination, a turn
signal in the glass, power-folding
operation and a curb-tilt feature
(standard on Yukon Denali and
available on Yukon).
DOOR BEAMS
To reduce the risk of intrusion into the
cabin in a shallow-angle side impact,
all Yukon models feature sturdy steel
door beams.
1StabiliTrak is available on 2WD and 4WD Yukon and Yukon XL1/2-ton models; it is standard on Yukon Denali and Yukon XLDenali. 2Air bag inflation can cause severe injury or death toanyone too close to the bag when it deploys. Be sure everyoccupant is properly restrained. Always use safety belts andproper child restraints, even with air bags. Please refer to “ANote on Child Safety” on page 32. 3One-year OnStar Safe &Sound service plan is available on all Yukon models and standard on Yukon Denali models. An OnStar-equipped Yukon includes a one-year OnStar Safe & Sound service agreement. See page 33, call 1-888-4ONSTAR (1-888-466-7827) orvisit onstar.com for system limitations and details. 4OnStarPersonal Calling-enabled vehicle, existing OnStar service contract, and prepaid calling minutes required. Available inmost markets. OnStar voice recognition system may notwork with some voices.
ONSTAR3 SAFETY & SECURITY
In an emergency, an OnStar Advisor
is there to help. If your air bags de-
ploy, OnStar receives a signal and
can call the vehicle to check on you.
OnStar can also work with authori-
ties and attempt to locate a stolen
vehicle. Weather conditions can be
obtained through Virtual Advisor. All
plans include access to Personal
Calling4, a built-in, hands-free, voice-
activated phone that can receive

1When properly equipped; includes weight of vehicle, passengers, cargo and equipment. 2NOTE: Your vehicle may require additional special equipment to tow the maximum trailer weight listed here. Maximum trailer ratings are calculated assuming a base vehicle, except any options necessaryto achieve the rating, plus driver. The weight of other optional equipment, passengers and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your vehicle can tow. See the GMC Trailering Guide for details. Trailer tongue weight should be 10%–15% of total loaded trailer weight (up to 1000 lbs on1/2-ton Series and 1500 lbs on 3/4-ton Series). Addition of trailer tongue weight cannot cause vehicle weights to exceed Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR) or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). See your GMC Trailering Guide for more details.
