MR. MOHD. ADHARI BELAL DIN Director Strategic Human Capital Department Strategic Management Department Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Adhari is the Director of Strategic Human Capital Department and Strategic Management Department. He is responsible to develop and drive the implementation of HR strategic plan for the Bank. He is also responsible to spearhead the Bank’s strategic management, organizational performance and program management functions to drive greater organizational focus and performance. Prior to this, he was the Director of Strategic and Risk Management Department. Besides his responsibilities in strategic management functions of the Bank, he was responsible to ensure that the Bank is aware of its inherent risks by creating sound and robust risk assessment frameworks, enabling self-assessment environment, instilling enterprise-wide risk management culture and independently, advising on enterprise-wide risks. Prior to joining the Bank in 2008, Adhari was a Managing Consultant of Hay Group, Kuala Lumpur. His consulting career started as early as 1998 with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kuala Lumpur in the area of Strategic Change Management. Adhari’s consulting experience and expertise have been mostly in the areas of talent management, leadership assessment and development, competency modelling, assessment and development, employee value propositions and change management for client organisations mostly within Financial Services and Public sectors.

MR. THOMAS TAN Director, Human Capital Development Centre & Central Banking Services Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Thomas is the Director of the Human Capital Development Centre and Central Banking Services. He oversees the formulation and implementation of strategies to develop a competent and progressive workforce for BNM and to enhance ties with central banks and financial sector authorities. Thomas has about 20 years of experience in central banking. Prior to his current role, Thomas served in the Development Finance & Enterprise Department, the Economics Department and the Monetary Assessment and Strategy Department, where he was the Deputy Head of the Monetary Policy Committee Secretariat. Thomas holds a degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol and an MBA from INSEAD. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, was a BNM scholar and had attended the Strategic Leadership for Microfinance Programme at Harvard Business School.

MS. RUZIANA MOHD MOKHTAR Deputy Director, Central Banking Services Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Ruziana has been with the Bank since 1998. She joined the Central Banking Services (CBS) unit in August 2014, which is responsible for international technical cooperation initiatives with other central banks and regulatory agencies. Prior to joining CBS, Ruziana served as a Deputy Director responsible for the formulation of regulatory framework and strategies for the development of the financial sector. Ruziana holds an accounting degree from the University of Melbourne and is a member of CPA Australia.

Liza has been with the Bank for almost 20 years and is currently a Manager in the Strategic Human Capital department. She is currently responsible in mananging manpower planning, competencies, jobs, and restructuring of departments in the Bank. Liza, graduated with MBA from the University of Hull, UK in 1996.

Syed has been with the Bank for almost 13 years. He is currently a Manager in the Strategic Human Capital department and is responsible in managing human capital analytics, job evaluations and restructuring of departments in the Bank. DR. MAZLINA MUHAMAD Manager, Strategic Human Capital Department Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Dr. Mazlina has been with the Bank since 2002 and is currently a Manager in the Strategic Human Capital department. She is responsible for the Bank’s profiling initiatives of talents in the Bank. She has been Chartered with the British Psychological Society and a member of the Occupational Division. She has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from University of Wales, Cardiff, MA in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from National University of Malaysia and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Surrey. Her doctorate focused on psychometric assessments in the workplace. Faizal has been with the Bank for almost 15 years, and is currently a Manager in the Strategic Human Capital department. He is currently responsible for Progression, Succession and Development in the Bank.

MR. FAIZAL MUHAMMAD SUDIN Manager, Strategic Human Capital Department Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

DR. HASANAH JOHARI Deputy Director, Human Capital Development Centre Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Dr. Hasanah joined the Bank about 20 years ago and is currently the Deputy Director of Human Capital Development Centre. She is in charge of the Performance Consultancy and Technical Capability Development Section in which she partners the line departments to elevate their performance. Her past experience in Bank Negara Malaysia include workforce planning, performance management, recruitment and scholarship management, leadership profiling and succession management in the Strategic Human Capital department. She completed her MSc in Human Resource Development (1997) from the University of Manchester, UK and her dissertation was on self-driven career development. A strong believer in continuous learning and the need to deepen her knowledge in HR, Dr. Hasanah went to pursue her PhD in UK in 2004 and successfully completed her thesis in designing a more strategic HRM in 2007. She is also an accredited professional Certified Solution – Focused Coach (CSFC) by the Canadian Council of Professional Certification.

MS. ZURAIDA ABDUL RAHMAN Manager, Human Capital Development Centre Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Zuraida joined the Bank about 29 years ago and is currently the Manager of Human Capital Development Centre. She is in the Performance Consultancy and Technical Capability Development Section in which she partners the line departments to elevate their performance. She spent most of her career in the supervision sector where she supervises the individual banks for assessment on their financial health. She also had the experience in regulatory and policy in the cooperative sector. Currently, she is in charge for both the Supervision and Regulation sector of the Bank. She completed her MSc in Accounting (2000) from the National University of Malaysia.

Dorothy is the Deputy Director of the Organisational Capability Development section of the Human Capital Development Centre. She has over 20 years of experience in the Central Bank. Prior to her current role, she served in the Banking Supervision Department. Currently Dorothy is responsible for building leadership and organisational capabilities in the Bank. She plays a key role in the design and delivery of leadership and personal development solutions to enhance competence of Bank staff at all levels. Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Knowledge Management from the University of Melbourne. Besides learning & development, she also has wide experience in implementing various knowledge management initiatives towards helping the Bank achieve its aspiration to be a Knowledge Based Organisation. Dorothy believes in listening to people and empowering them to be their best.

MR. GHAZALI MOHAMED FADZIL Deputy Director, Human Capital Development Centre Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Ghazali is currently a Deputy Director at the Human Capital Development Centre. He has served the Bank for over 12 years and was instrumental in setting up the new Knowledge Management Centre at Bank Negara Malaysia. His professional experiences include being Head of the Information Resource Centre for both Securities Commission and Telekom Multimedia, and Manager for Knowledge Management at the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). Ghazali has also written and presented papers, as well as conducted workshops quite extensively in the area of information and knowledge management. His current subject interests are Knowledge Loss and Retention, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Information Use and Management, and Social Media in Information Systems.

MS. INTAN SHAHIRA MOHD SHAHRU Deputy Director, Strategic Human Capital Department Bank Negara Malaysia [email protected]

Intan Shahira has been engaging the Bank for 6 years as a consultant and subsequently joined the Bank as a Deputy Director, Jobs & Rewards Specialist in the Strategic Human Capital department. She assisted the relevant to design, implement and socialize the new job management system & the proposed integrated talent & rewards strategy for the Bank. She was responsible for integrating the newly designed job management system and rewards philosophy with the other talent management initiatives in the Bank, namely the Career Progression Framework and Behavioral Competency Framework that addresses the different job families in the Bank. She is currently overseeing the Progression, Succession & Development functions in the Bank. Previously, Intan Shahira was a Senior Consultant with the Hay Group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 8 years. She consulted in the area of executive rewards, performance-linked reward systems, performance management, competency-based modeling and leadership effectiveness programs.

MS. KAREN RUTH SHEPHERDSON Director The ICLIF Leadership and Governance Centre [email protected]

Karen fulfils a dual role as Iclif’s chief designer and facilitator. A native Malaysian, Karen began her career in banking, and gained more than 20 years of experience in economic research, corporate planning, and regional office supervision before finding her true calling in leadership learning and development. She uses her analytic capabilities, understanding of organisational dynamics and HR background to design world-class curricula for Iclif’s clients in collaboration with other lead faculty. She has done work in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and China. Karen is a certified Curriculum Developer, Instructional Systems Designer, experienced facilitator and 360-feedback coach. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (University of Lincoln-Nebraska, United States), and an MBA (University of Newcastle, Australia).

Lily is the Deputy Director for Business Strategy at Iclif where she is also a People Development Facilitator & an Executive Coach. She has over 20 years of experience in various roles such as sales and marketing, professional education accreditation and qualification, and business process re-engineering. She has successfully grown corporate portfolios and developed international markets in Asia and the United States. A certified instructional designer and accredited MBTI & NLP practitioner, Lily holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in the art of Ontological Coaching.

MS. KALA KULARAJAH Regional Director - Fast growing Markets Hay Group [email protected]

Kala is a Regional Director for Fast Growing Markets. She is a member of Fast Growing Markets (FGM) Leadership Team in developing and driving Hay Group’s global strategy for FGM. Tian Pouw possesses more than two decades of experience in regional consulting and corporate HR experiences in assessment and development, change management, leadership search, mergers and acquisitions, organization change and transformation, and talent management. He has also worked with senior management-level clients throughout Asia Pacific including India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Tian Pouw was the group human resources general manager for Hong Leong Group, one of Malaysia's largest conglomerates. Before that, he was the consulting practice lead for Hewitt Associates' talent and leadership engagement practice in Malaysia. Tian Pouw started his career with Andersen Consulting in Malaysia. During his tenure, he was the senior consulting manager for the organization and human performance group, specializing in the financial services industry, as a regional HR lead Asia, and as a quality-ISO9001 manager. Tian Pouw holds a post-grad diploma in human resource management from the University of Malaya and a bachelor's degree from Monash University, Austrialia. In addition, he is also a certified practitioner in NLP-NS (Neurolingustic Programming-Neuro Semantics).

DR. WAN NURSOFIZA WAN AZMI Director, Strategy, Policy Development and Research Asian Institute of Finance [email protected]

Dr. Wan is the Director of Strategy Policy Development and Research of the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF). Prior to her employment at AIF, she was the Head of the Director General’s Office at Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA) Malaysia, where she was involved in the strategic development of the Labuan International Business and Financial Centre. She was also the pioneering team that established the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF). At INCEIF, she was responsible for developing the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) programme, which is one of the world’s first certification in Islamic Finance. Dr. Wan is an accomplished author. Her book, Islamic Finance and Banking System is acknowledged as McGraw Hill bestselling title in 2009. The book is widely used as a major textbook and reference book in most universities worldwide, and has been translated into the Russian and Chinese language. She was named as the Upcoming Personality in Islamic Finance at the Global Islamic Finance Award 2012 and was also listed on the Top 20 Most Influential Women in Islamic Finance by a London-based Islamic finance magazine. She recently won the Best Case Study Award 2013 sponsored by the European Case Clearing House (ecch) for her case study on BNI Syariah: Growing in a Competing Market. In 2014, her case study on Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad received the Best Islamic Case Award at the Global Islamic Finance Awards in Dubai. Dr. Wan is also a Certified Trainer and a member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), UK. She holds a Phd in Corporate Finance from Australia, and obtained her Master of Science in Corporate Finance and Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the United Kingdom.

MR. AHMAD FAIRUZ MOHD ADZAHAN Head, Strategy, Professional Development Division Asian Banking School [email protected]

Fairuz is presently heading the Professional Development Division at the Asian Banking School, primarily responsible for the delivery of professional qualification and continuing professional development programmes towards enhancing human capital development in the banking profession. He joined the Institute of Bankers Malaysia (now known as the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers) in 2013 and has been heavily involved in the institute’s activities to support talent development in the banking and finance sector. Through AICB, he partakes in a number of efforts for talent development with other banking institutes in the region. Fairuz has 18 years of experience in the financial services industry in technical training and development, global banking and market operations, and wholesale and retail banking.
