Lesson 1 : Maybe part of loving is learning to let goLi Mochou nicknamed “Red Fairy”. She is the elder disciple sister of Xiaolongnü and considerably more powerful at the start of the novel in terms of martial arts. She is chased by her teacher, because

she falls in love with a man, as it is prohibited by her teacher. Li Mochou morphs into a vicious killer after her lover Lu Zhanyuan betrayed her. She tries to avenge by killing everybody in Lu family.

The protagonist Yang Guo is the orphaned son of the antagonist Yang Kang. He is raised briefly bythe couple Guo Jing and Huang Rong. At Peach Blossom Island Huang Rong doesn’t teach Yang Guo the martial arts, for she feels that Yang bears an uncanny resemblance to his father. Later Yang Guo is sent to the Quanzheng Sect for better guidance in moral values and orthodox martial arts.

Lesson 2 : Learn to live alone without help

At Quanzhen, Yang Guo is often picked on and bullied by his fellow students and even his teacher Zhao Zhijing is biased against him. Yang Guo flees and ventures unknowingly into the nearby Tomb of the Living Dead where the Ancient Tomb Sect is housed. He is saved by Xiaolongnu, a mysterious maiden of unknown origin, and becomes her disciple.

Lesson 3 : Retreat and restart a better life

They live together in the Ancient Tomb for many years until Yang comes of age.

By then, Yang Guo sees Xiaolongnü more than merely his highly-respected teacher, as he has gradually developed romantic feelings for her. Within a few months, the two managed to understand and grasp the essence of the skills that Wang Chongyang left on the ceiling.

Lesson 11 : Together we winYang Guo meets Guo Jing and Huang Rong again. Jinlun Fawang challences Yang Guo to fight with him. Xiaolongnu appears at this place and helps Yang. One of them is from Jade Heart Manual. Xiaolongnu and Yang Guo help together in fighting with Jinlun Fawang and they can overcome him with various styles of martial arts.

Lesson 12 : Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mindAfter Yang Guo wins the fighting he declares to the pugilists that he will marry with his teacher, Xiaolongnu. This causes Guo Jing to be angry with Yang and he tries to present Guo Fu, his daughter to him instead. After finding that their loves cannot be happened, Xiaolongnu decides to escape from Yang Guo again that night.

Lesson 13 : Sincerity & Love can win people’s heartsYang Guo tries to avenge Guo Jing after he knows that Guo family killed his father Yang Kang. However, Guo’ sincerity and the love of the country can win Yang’s heart. Later he knows the fact that his father betrays his country and stops revenge Guo family.

Lesson 14 : Nobody is good or bad 100% During the battle of Xian Yang, Li Mochou appears as a motherly figure to the baby Guo Xiang, whom she kidnaps from her parents, Guo family. Xiaolongnu has a chance to save Guo Xiang,

the youngest daughter of Guo Jing and Huang Rong from Li Mochou.

Lesson 15 : Learn from the lossWith understanding that Yang Guo doesn’t love her, Guo Fu bites down on her teeth and increasing the strength in her hand, she chops down with her sword and his right arm has been severed. Yang Guo learns the swordplay techniques of Dugu Qiubai. Yang traines relentlessly with his single arm to wield the Heavy Iron Sword of Dugu.

Lesson 16 : Enlighten at the minutes of deathQiu Qianren is is notorious for committing all sorts of atrocities in the past but is saved from death by Yideng and repents. He becomes a monk called Ci'en and Yideng’s disciple. Later Qiu Qianren

meets Yang Guo and is defeated to Yang. After he is nearly killed by Yang, he gets to know the minutes of death that the persons he killed have felt. He gets enlightened at that time!

Lesson 17 : Sacrifice life to save the lover’s lifeYang Guo and Xiaolongnu meets together again. Xiaolongnu knows that Zhen Zhibing rapes her and dies for her and Yang Guo looses his right arm. Finally, after their reunion and marriage, Xiaolongnü leaves Yang Guo again, owing to her belief she cannot recover from a fatal poison, and promises to meet him again sixteen years later.

Lesson 18 : Make every hour in the day countWhile Yang Guo is wandering the land alone, he meets several accomplished pugilists and a Giant Condor. His adventures gradually mould him into a courageous pugilist whose prowess matches the Greats of his age. He also wears the mark for nobody will know that he is Yang Guo. He meets celebrates Guo Xian’s birthday of 16 years old by killing the Mongol invaders.

Lesson 19 : It’s all about loveYang Guo and his condor comes to the place, where he will meet his wife, Xiaolongnu again after 16 years. His hair becomes white overnight. Yang Guo decides to jump from the cliff into the valley, but he accidentally meets Xiaolongnu there. She can be survived and no way to climb up, so she writes the message on the bees, but nobody can notice.

Lesson 20 : The return of the condor heroYang Guo and Xiaolongnu ride the condor to fight with and kill Jinlun Fawang and save Guo Xiang from Mongol. Guo Fu asks Yang Guo for an excuse after Yang Guo can save her husband, Yelu Qi, who is the descendant of Liao Dynasty and the successor of Beggar clan later. Yang Guo slainsMonke Khan and Kublai Khan, Monke’s younger brother decides to retreat.

Now the five greats of Huashan are changed Guo Jing replaces Hong Shigong, Zhou Butong replaces Wang Chongyang, and Yang Guo replaces Auyang Feng.
