Discipline Files – Most Severe Incident
4
• The Safe School Act; 22-32-109.1( 2) ( b) , C.R.S. requires that each violation must be reported only in the most serious category that is applicable to that violation
• If multiple violations occur in one incident, schools must determine which among the violations is deemed the “most serious” and report that one
• Generally, it is as the school's discretion to determine which violation is most serious, reach out to CSI with questions
• This is only applicable if there are multiple violations with one incident

Behavior/Action Issues in PowerSchool
5
Keep in mind when recording behaviors or actions
• Utilize the Incident Management section, not the Log Entries• At least one behavior must be defined for each offender• At least one action must be associated with each behavior• Once all behaviors have been created, drag onto the offender • Next, drag the action directly onto the behavior• Always match State reportable behaviors with a state reportable action.
These always contain a carat symbol ( ^)
Discipline Data Entry – PowerSchool
• If correctly entered, it should look like this • Both incident and action are State Reportable • The action is indented from the incident
• If resulting action is dragged prior to the incident, it is incorrect and will not report
• If action is dragged onto the offender, it will not report correctly
• The action must be indented
Don’t Forget to Submit! For a full review of the Discipline Data Entry Process, see the PS – Discipline Data Entry Training
Discipline Data Entry – Infinite Campus
Check to ensure added correctly, it should look like this with state reportable behavior and resolution
