    Power ports - The PCOS machine is capable of operating with AC power orvia optional external battery pack (DC). The external battery can last at least 12hours of continuous operation. There is no power switch. It is turned on byconnecting the plug to the power source.

    Compact Flash Removable Memory (Results Storage)Main and Backup memory cards are compact flash memorycards that store configuration and results.

    Main memory card is located in the Poll Worker accesscompartment Back-up memory card is located in the administrator

    access compartment.

    The Backup memory card holds a copy of the election results and auditlog from the Main memory card.

    The Main and Back-up memory cards are sealed for the entireelection process. The Backup memory card is used to confirm that the Main memorycard has not been tampered.

    This is the paper that is usedfor printing election results

    and it is located inside thePRINTER COMPARTMENT.

    Ballot Box

    The ballot box is constructed using a

    steel frame and steel side panels. Ithas security features to preventunauthorized access, includingphysical locks on all access doors.

    Flip open the small plastic flapthat secures the PCOS. Slightly

    pull the PCOS to release theportion of the printer cover that isbeing locked by the ballot box. Liftthe printer cover door.

    Press the blue button. The printerroller component will pop out of

    its position.

    Note: PCOS Technician should verify with BEIbefore unlocking / locking the printer coverdoor.

    Insert the new paper roll into the rearsection of the printer compartment.

    Note: Ensure that the paper roll feedsfrom the bottom of the roll.

    Position the printer roller on top ofthe two printer roller pivots and thepaper below it.

    Close the printercover door.

    Tear off excess paper.Push the PCOS until it
