If you, your relative, or neighbor is suffering from the ef-fects of age, illness or infirmity and is physically and gravely indisposed to go to church to receive Communion, please call/text: Zeny Esquivel (818) 705-2890 or Marge Pot-ter (818) 994-7346. These Eucharistic visits by members of St. Catherine Legion of Mary and Eucharistic Ministry may take place in the home, at the hospital bed, or in any institu-tion that provides basic care and day-to-day living arrange-ments to the elderly, the sick and the infirm. The visit in-volves receiving the Blessed Sacrament, sharing in prayer and the word of God.

HAPPY EASTER! Happy Easter! Or as most other languages prefer: Blessed Pasch—Passover! Pasqua, Pascua, Páscoa, Pâques! Israel’s Pass-over through the Red Sea to the Promised Land! Jesus’ Pass-over through the Cross to resurrection! Our catechumens’ Passover last night, and ours once upon a time, through Bap-tism’s waters to our family’s Eucharist! Welcome, everybody! As someone once said of the Catholic Church, “Here comes everybody!” So in this Jubilee of Mercy, we make our own Saint John Chrysostom’s Easter welcome from fourteen hun-dred years ago: “Let everyone enjoy this radiant feast! You who fasted from Lent’s beginning, and you who didn’t fast at all, rejoice! The table’s richly set! Come, take from it, every-body, no worries, no embarrassment! All of you, taste the ban-quet of faith! Enjoy the feast of forgiveness! Let no one grieve for having sinned again and again: pardon has risen from the tomb!” Happy Easter! Blessed Pasch! Catherine’s Letters to the Future

“Shame, shame, on our human pride, our self-complacency, our self-centeredness, when we see how good God has been to us, how many gifts and graces he given us—and not because he has to but because he wants to! Obtuse as we are, we seem not to see or feel this love so hot that, if we were made of stone, it would long ago have burst us open! … I can see no other reason except that the eye of our understanding is not on the tree of the cross. For there is revealed such warm love, such gently per-suasive teaching filled with life-giving fruits, such generosity that he has torn open his very body, has shed his life’s blood, and with that blood has baptized and bathed us. “Vergüenza, vergüenza, sobre nuestro orgullo humano, nuestra autocomplacencia, nuestro egocentrismo, cuando vemos lo bueno que ha sido Dios para nosotros, cuántos do-nes y gracias nos ha dado, y no porque tiene que hacerlo sino porque quiere. ¡a! A pesar de que estamos tan abatidos, pare-ce que no vemos ni sentimos este amor tan caliente que, si estuviéramos hechos de piedra, ¡hace mucho que nos habrían hecho estallar! ... No puedo ver otra razón, excepto que el ojo de nuestro entendimiento no está en el árbol de la cruz. Por-que se revela un amor tan cálido, una enseñanza tan persuasi-va y llena de frutos vivificantes, tanta generosidad que ha des-garrado su propio cuerpo, ha derramado la sangre de su vida, y con esa sangre nos ha bautizado y bañado. Podemos y debe-mos hacer uso de ese bautismo todos los días con un recuerdo continuo y un gran amor ”.
