In 2 Peter 2 we are studying the dangersdangers to the church of false teachersfalse teachers,

And theirtheir judgment and damnation.

They can readily deceivedeceive and pullpull away the unsaved, who are considering Christianityconsidering Christianity.

They can also deceive, for a timefor a time, those who are saved but double-mindeddouble-minded.

They don't fully have their

mind made up to serve the Lord.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allureallure (entice and entrap) through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness (filthy vices), those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

To denyTo deny the sinfulness and destructiveness of sin is to deny God's Worddeny God's Word.

Such a message appeals onlyonly to those who are ruledruled by the lusts of the flesh.

So many today speak of Christianity as a life of bondage to rulesbondage to rules.

They advocateadvocate a life of licentiousnesslicentiousness, wherein people live live

without ruleswithout rules.They claimclaim to be free, but are, in truthin truth, in a terrible bondageterrible bondage to sin.

Their eternal judgment and damnation is more severemore severe than those who have never

heard.

They have never truly become sons and daughters of The Most High God.

Peter is speaking of naturenature.

We can change our waysour ways for a time.

But only Godonly God can change our nature.
