Here we are an- other week without rain, just hot and dry wind and plenty of that. PRAY FOR RAIN..... Just one good rain would make all the difference in making a good cot- ton crop or nothing. Please God help the farmers and ranchers. I need to correct a mistake I made last week, in the article I wrote about Mark Cox, I stated that he graduated from OGHS in l995 and it should of read l975. So sorry about the mis- take, but it will happen. Still nothing exciting going on, must remain at home to be safe. There was a big fire west of Asper- mont on Saturday evening and it seem to have burned several acres but was put out in good time. Thanks to all the volunteer fire fighters. It sure is hot to have to fight a fire now, God Bless them. Sybil Kendrick, Mittie Dunham and I drove to Rule on Wednesday and got food from Gerral and Shelly Waldon's Food Truck and went to Doris Lehrmann's home and had lunch with her before we started our afternoon domino games. A nice day. Mittie Dunham attended the ladies night at the Central Baptist Church in Aspermont on Monday evening. There were eleven ladies present to enjoy the food and fellow- ship. They filled and wrapped twenty five Christmas boxes to sent to chil- dren overseas. On Tuesday, Alice Winters of Aspermont accompanied Mittie Dunham to Stamford to do some shopping. Then they picked up sand- wiches and drove to Aspermont to have lunch at Alice's home. Friday morning, Mittie was in Aspermont on business and them en- joyed having lunch with Alice before returning home. I was very glad to have my son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Maxelle Baldree, of Tuscola to spend the weekend with me. They also took me for dinner on Friday evening. " Dale and Carm Letz enjoyed having their three granddaughters Darbee, Laynee, and Hazelee New of Haskell spend Friday night and all day Satur- day with them. Danny and Phyills Letz were sur- prised but very happy to see grand- son, Troy Conner, of Quanah when he stopped by to see them last week. On Friday evening daughter, Jana and her daughter, Deanne Conner, stopped by to visit with Danny and Phyllis. They live in Abilene. Glen and Helen Pierce enjoyed having Kara Briggs and son, Crete, from Haskell for lunch and a nice visit on Saturday. Kim Lowack of OG took lunch to her parents, Glen and Helen Pierce, and enjoyed eating with them on Sunday. Mittie Dunham and daughter, Shelly Waldon drove to Roby on Sun- day after church to the home of Mit- tie's granddaughter, Sonja Hampton, and family for a birthday celebration for son, Dylan Lujan's, fifteen birth- day. The group enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream. Thought for the week: "Life's dif- ficulties are real, but not unbearable. Though the challenges demand much of your attention, you have many things to be Thankful for. Remind yourself of those things and enjoy them to the fullest." Happy Birthday Wishes go to Frances Powers, Jana Hinkle, Cho Diers, Zachary Kittley, Tracey Hilbert, Geary Meador, Susan Lefevre, Isaiah Vahlenkamp, Shane Earthman, Gail Moran, Adrianana Hinkle, Shelly Waldon, Billy Teichel- man, David Ballard, Lenzi Manske, Mittie Dunham, Rene McAden, Samuel Turner, Kara Tabor, Cody Jordan, Megan Vahlenkamp, Marty Vahlenkamp, John Ben Glover, Peggy Jo Gray, Doyle Robertson, Ralph Riddle III, Betty Thompson, Greg Teichelman, and Madisyn Letz. We wish you many more. Anniversary greetings go to Jerry and Susan Smith, Bobby and Kim Lowack, Clay and Tammy Gentry, Jacky and Gail Morrow, and Mike and Debbie Cox. Have a wonderful day.
