home, sign the conduct sheet, and return to school on Monday.
•Will come home in “Return to School”pocket of daily folder.
•Is due the next morning.
•One day late is -11 points.
•Two days late is a zero.
•Lowest grade will be dropped each grading period.
Conduct sheets will go home everyday in folders. If your child receives a mark, please talk to
your child about their misbehavior. Students are
expected to follow the rules, use their manners, and be kind to
others.
•It is very important that your child is at school everyday, except in cases of illness
or emergency.
•Please send a note with your child with the reason for the absence when they get back
to school.
•Students are expected to be in the classroom by 8:00, or they will be marked tardy and receive a conduct mark. Three
tardies equals one absence.
•Students’ grades will be available on the internet again this year if you would like to keep up with
your child’s progress.
•Progress reports will go home about four and a half weeks into
each grading period.
All shoes must have a back on them or a strap on the back. No flip flops are allowed. This is for your child’s safety. If your child wears inappropriate shoes, they will put on their P.E. shoes or call
home for a different pair.
Please remember to sign in at the office if you visit. If you are picking up your child,
someone from the office will come to the classroom to get
your child.
If your child will be going home in a way that is different than usual,
please send a note or call the office by 2:30. If we do not get a note or a phone call, we will send
your child home in the usual manner.
Students are expected to do some A.R. reading at home to
improve fluency and comprehension. Try to make
reading with your child a fun time that you can spend together. The students are expected to pass at
least 2 A.R. tests each week.
There will be graded daily papers and one test each week. Tests
will usually be given on Fridays. Spelling words will go home on
Mondays. Keep this list at home to practice spelling the words for
the test on Friday.
•No snack time this year.
•If you would like to send birthday treats to school, we will eat them on Fridays at 11:40.
•Please do not send invitations to school to pass out unless all children are invited. We don’t want hurt feelings.
•Math homework will come home in “Return to School” pocket most nights.
•No homework on weekends, except to continue reading at home and practice math facts.
•Please “help” your child correct his/her homework before returning it to school.
Please join PTG to help support your school. The PTG
organization gives generous support to the school and the
children. If 90% of the parents join, the teacher gets an extra
$20 to spend on the students and classroom.
Book orders will come home about once a month. You do not have to order. If you choose to order with a check, please make the check out to the book club.
Please make sure that your child keeps these items at home. They can be damaged, lost, or stolen at
school. They are often times a distraction as well.
We want to work as partners with you to make this a great year for your child. If you have questions or concerns, please let us know! We check our email at least once a day. We can also visit over the phone or set up a time to talk to you in person.
