• AS A GROUP WE AIMED TO CREATE AN EFFECTIVE UNIFIED MEDIA MARKETING PACKAGE (THE TRAILER, POSTER AND MAGAZINE COVER). WE DONE THIS BY CREATING OUR THREE MAIN PRODUCTS INSPIRED BY THE CONVENTIONS OF THE HORROR GENRE, AND MAKING THE MAGAZINE, TRAILER AND POSTER VISUALLY MATCH. FOR EXAMPLE WE FOCUSED LARGELY ON ELEMENTS SUCH AS THE USE OF TYPOGRAPHY/ FONT/ SIZE , APPEARANCE SUCH AS THE COLOURS USED IN EACH PRODUCT AND LOOKING AT THE OVERALL MARKETING IMAGE AS A WHOLE PACKAGE BEING UNIFIED.

• ONE WAY IN WHICH WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A COHESIVE IMAGE ACROSS ALL THREE PRODUCTS WAS THROUGH THE USE OF TEXT AND TYPOGRAPHY. BY ANALYSING MANY OTHER HORROR TRAILERS, POSTERS AND MAGAZINE COVERS WE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT SIMPLISTIC TITLING IS COMMON. A UNIFIED MARKETING PACKAGE IN WHICH WE TOOK INSPIRATION FROM (HIGHLIGHTED IN QUESTION ONE) REGARDING TYPOGRAPHY WAS ‘WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN’ AND ‘THE PURGE’ WHO BOTH USED BLACK AND WHITE COLOUR SCHEMES MAKING THE TITLE VISIBLY RECOGNISABLE AND STAND OUT TO THE AUDIENCE. THEREFORE WE USED FONT CALLED BEBAS KAI WITH A BLACK, RED AND WHITE COLOUR SCHEME THROUGHOUT ALL THREE PRODUCTS, IN ORDER TO CREATE THE SAME EFFECT OF APPEAL AND ENSURE OUR AUDIENCE CAN IDENTIFY WITH OUR FILM TOO. BUT ALSO WAS EFFECTIVE IN CREATING THE FEEL OF HORROR ACROSS THE MARKETING PACKAGE AS COLOURS LIKE RED AND BLACK ARE ASSOCIATED WITH TYPICAL ASPECTS OF HORROR FOR EXAMPLE RED WITH BLOOD AND DANGER AND BLACK WITH EVIL AND DARKNESS NOT ONLY WAS THE FONT WE USED ABLE TO ACHIEVE THIS , BUT IT WAS ALSO CLEAR, AND BROUGHT TOGETHER THE OVERALL FEEL OF THE TRAILER, MAGAZINE AND POSTER AS A PACKAGE.

This is an example of a way in which we used the text within the magazine in order to conform to the horror genre and comply with the colour scheme of black, white and red, this was so we would unify the three production tasks to make them an effective marketing image.

• ANOTHER WAY IN WHICH WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A COHESIVE IMAGE ACROSS ALL THREE PRODUCTS WAS THROUGH THE USE LIGHTING, COLOURING, COLOUR SCHEME AND OVERALL LOOK OF THE IMAGES IN THE TRAILER, POSTER AND MAGAZINE. SUCH AS USING COLD, DULL AND DARK COLOURING OF MAINLY BLACK, WHITES AND REDS IN ALL THREE PRODUCTS. BY DOING THIS WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A UNIFIED LOOK AND LINK BETWEEN ALL THREE, BUT ALSO DEVELOPING THE HORROR IMAGE IN WHICH WE WANT TO PORTRAY TO THE AUDIENCE. BY USING THESE COLOURS IT SUGGEST A SENSE OF DANGER, EVIL AND SCARE, WHICH ARE THE MAIN THEMES OF OUR CHOSEN GENRE OF HORROR. SIMILARLY BY USING THE SAME COLOUR SCHEME WITHIN THE TRAILER, POSTER AND MAGAZINE COVER IT ALSO GIVES THE SAME IMPRESSION THROUGH THE DULL, GREY TONES USED THROUGHOUT, WORKING A LONG SIDE THE MAIN COLOURS OF RED, WHITE AND BLACK. IN ORDER TO PRESENT THIS GREY ENHANCEMENT WITHIN THE MAGAZINE WE FIRSTLY TURNED IT BLACK AND WHITE, THEN CHANGED THE HUE ALONGSIDE THE CONTRAST ON ABODE PHOTOSHOP. IN THE SAME WAY WITHIN THE TRAILER WE WERE ABLE TO USE THE COLOUR CORRECTING TOOL AND CHANGE THE WHITES, MIDS , BLACKS AND SATURATION, IN ORDER TO CREATE THE SAME EFFECT. LASTLY WITH THE POSTER, ONCE AGAIN USING PHOTOSHOP ADOBE I WAS ABLE TO COLOUR OVER A PREVIOUS PHOTO TAKEN, USING THE COLOUR MATCHING TOOL AND THE PAINT BRUSH WHICH CREATED A CARTOONY FEEL. HOWEVER FOR THE BASE OF THE MASK I USED A GREY COLOUR TO ONCE AGAIN PORTRAY THIS DULL COLD LOOK AND FEEL WHICH IS PRESENT IN THE TWO OTHER PRODUCTS. THEREFORE WE WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THE COHESIVE IMAGE AND MAKING AN EFFECTIVE MARKETING PACKAGE WELL.

• LASTLY ANOTHER WAY WE AS A GROUP MANAGED TO CREATE A COHESIVE IMAGE WITHIN ALL THREE ANCILLARY TASKS WAS THROUGH THE MARKETING IMAGE WE CREATED TO PROMOTE AND ADVERTISE OUR FILM "THE FINAL PLEA”. AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER HORROR MARKETING PACKAGES LIKE “GONE GIRL” IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THEY USED THE SAME CHARACTER ON EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT. THERE FORE WE DONE THE SAME WITH OUR MARKETING PACKAGE FEATURING THE MASKED CHARACTERS ACTOR ON THE MAGAZINE, POSTER AND TRAILER. WE DONE THIS IN ORDER TO PROMOTE TO THE A WIDE AUDIENCE AS WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A UNIQUE SELLING POINT; WHICH WAS THROUGHOUT THE TRAILER AND THE POSTER THE ANTAGONIST TRUE IDENTITY WAS UNKNOWN WHICH ENABLED US TO CREATE ENIGMA OVERALL GIVING THE MARKETING PACKAGE A SINISTER FEEL LIKE WE WANTED. HOWEVER ON THE MAGAZINE COVER WE UNCOVERED THE MASKED MAN TO THE AUDIENCE SHOWING THEM HIS IDENTITY. AS OUR ACTOR IS ON AL THREE ANCILLARY TASKS THE AUDIENCE IS ABLE TO LINK THE THREE TOGETHER AND IDENTIFY WITH THE CHARACTER. AS OUR THREE ANCILLARY TASKS FOLLOW THE SAME THEME AND FEATURES THE SAME ELEMENTS LIKE THE ACTOR I BELIEVE WE HAVE ABLE TO CARRY THIS OUT EFFECTIVELY AS ALL THREE PRODUCTS ARE UNIFIED AS THE AUDIENCE WILL BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A PACKAGE DEAL AND THEREFORE IS RELATED TO OUR TARGET AUDIENCE OF 15-24 YEARS OLDS
