SEMINARS

SEMINAR AOsteopathic Care of the Mother Following Delivery or Miscarriage

Philippe Druelle, DO

Whether a child is born with or without complications, the mother’s physical and emotional needs are often overshad-owed by the attention paid to her newborn. This workshop addresses the unique needs of the mother, including physi-cal and emotional considerations, that follow the delivery of her baby under various circumstances. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in osteopathic obstetric care, Philippe Druelle, DO, will provide an array of solutions to benefit the mother’s recovery process. Philippe will share his approaches for mothers with Cesarean section or episi-otomy scars, postpartum depression, low energy levels, and the inability to lose weight despite diet and exercise. The needs of women who lost babies through miscarriage or stillbirth are given special consideration. He will also share insights into the most beneficial ways to treat the fetus during the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy. This seminar is suitable for thesis writers, DOs, and DOMPs.

SEMINAR BOsteopathy for End of Life Reuben Bell, DO, MS, MDiv

Our attitudes and experience regarding death and dying determine the way we approach our patients. We need to have informed, well-defined goals to produce successful outcomes. But what do we really mean by “end of life”? Does making this distinction change the way we treat our patients? Should it? Are there conditions that we should not treat? Furthermore, is there a practical osteopathic model to define life and to deal with end of life? There is much to know about the medical, psychological, and spiritual circumstances at play during this time. Exploring the physical, meta-physical, and mystical for answers, this course will identify the parameters for treating patients who are approaching the end of life. This workshop is suitable for participants at any level.

SEMINAR CThe Osteopathic Approach of John Martin Littlejohn

Christian Fossum, DO

John Martin Littlejohn, DO, was responsible for maintaining and building upon A.T. Still’s manual approach to the treatment of the body. While osteopathy in the United States veered toward a more medicinal approach to healthcare, Littlejohn not only kept osteopathy “pure,” but he also developed a philosophical approach and set of manual tech-niques that addressed the medical needs of patients. Christian Fossum, DO, an internationally renowned educator and clinical practitioner, will present Littlejohn’s osteopathic method using a number of Littlejohn’s most versatile techniques. He will show how Littlejohn’s approach can be employed by the osteopathic manual practitioner in the restoration of health and the resolution of injury. This workshop is suitable for participants at any level.

us the best friends in life and promote Osteopathy as nothing else can”.
