Multiplying and Dividing Integers
Terms and Concepts (A)
The Product of two integers with different signs is negative Ex. 3(-2) = -6
The Product of two negative integers in positive Proof:
0 = -2 (0) 0 = -2 ([3 + -3]) (substitute a zero pair) 0 = -2(3) + -2(-3) (distribution prop.) 0 = -6 + 6 (the product has to be positive to make the
expression true.

Review top of page 82. The quotient of two integers with the
same sign is positive3/3 = 1, -12/-4 = 3
The quotient of two integers with different signs is negative4/-2 = -2, -10/5 = -2
