Terms and Concepts (A)
Negative number: a number less than 0. Negative numbers are members of the set
of integersSets of numbers:
Natural numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4,…A subset of whole numbers
Whole numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4,…A subset of integers
Integers: -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,…
Terms and Concepts (B)
Graphing integers: locate the point corresponding to the given number on a number line and place a dot on the number line.The number that corresponds to a point
is called a coordinate.Absolute value: the distance a number is
from 0 on the number line regardless of direction.
