Brook Straight Starlift

At 1st Step Mobility we recognise how important stairlifts are for people to keep their independence and stay in their own home. We offer a choice of models that you can buy new, reconditioned or on a rental basis (straight staircases only).

We provide a professional service as we are trained by Stannah and Brooks to ensure that you get the best technical and most up today service available to you.

Sometimes getting a stairlift is an urgent matter so we can provide a next day installation service on selected stairlifts. Please contact us today for more information or to book your free home assessment. The swivel seat means that there is no need

to twist awkwardly when rising from the stairlfit at the top of the stairs and then acts as a safety barrier when moving around the landing.

Simple to use directional paddles switches on the end of the arm rest give you complete control just at your finger tips but most important is that they can be operated easily if you have limited dexterity.

In situation where there may be an obstruction at the foot of the staircase such as a doorway, or where the stairlift could cause a tripping hazard, a hinged rail is required to ‘fold back’ away from the obstruction when the stairlift is not in use.

Because every staircase is different, Brooks have developed a highly adaptable solution for a straight staircase, a Brooks stairlift uses a single rail attached to your staircase. Its unique slimline design ensures that there is plenty of space left for other members of the family to use the stairs.

Packed full of features such as a lockable on/off switch to stop little fingers playing with it, safety sensors on the footrest and the carriage which stops the lift automatically and very gently if there is any obstruction on the staircase. Also provided is two remote controls providing the ability to call or send the lift up and down the staircase.

Stannah Straight Stannah CurvedA Stannah straight stairlift fits onto the staircase itself and not the wall to provide maximum support and stability when travelling up and down the stairs. The slimline rail fits closely to the wall and along with the seat, arms and footplate which folds up provides enough room for other use to still use the staircase if required.

The stairlift is easy to use, simple sit down and put the seat belt on and use the light-touch control which are mounted on

the end of the arms to raise and lower the lift, it also comes with two remotes so that you can call the lift to the level which you are waiting on providing usability for two people if required.

A selection of seat colours are available for the vinyl wipe clean upholstery to match most interiors along with a choice of rail colour between silver or bronze.

Features can be added to the stairlift to make sure that it can be used and most importantly safe for people with limited mobility such as three styles of seat belts with sensors that will prevent the lift from working until the belt is used, manual and powered swivel and safety edges all round the chair to prevent it getting caught or tangled or any obstacles.

A Stannah curved lift can accommodate curved staircases of different sizes and layouts as each and every rail is custom made to ensure a smooth journey for the user. Stannah unique curved slimline rail is attached to the staircase to ensure support and stability.

A curved rail can be installed along the inside or outside of the staircase depending on the rail and access and can navigate all kinds of corners and landings with a range of rail solutions providing step free access to the different levels within your apartment.

The rail is available in 6 different colours and the upholstery vinyl comes in 5 options ensuring the best possible match to your interior.

Before a curved lift is installed, a photo survey is required to produce a plan / drawing of the staircase of which the rail will be made too. An

appointment will be made with one of our members of our planning team to visit you to complete the survey.

The seat comes with the same features as the straight lift seat such as the seat belts and manual and power swivel. Installation of both straight and curved lifts are normally quick and done within half a day.
