Ahh, it’s that time of year again. When parents celebrate, and children groan as school approaches. This Summer was very busy so I look forward to a small little break. I say small because we have a lot of things coming up for the youth, beginning with 5th quarter on September 1st, a new Wednesday night schedule, and of course D-now, which is November 10-12. I have been busy the past month figuring out the direction the youth group should go this year and what our should focus be. Before school starts, it is my hope for the youth group to come together and nail down some details on their focus areas. I am excited. This summer was hectic and at times

stressful. But, it is during these times that God gives us not only his strength, but also his loving grace. Through our pastor leaving, my grandfather passing, and the many camps I went to over the summer, God has given me different perspectives on a lot of different subjects. Everything from evangelism to how we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. I wish I could share all of the things God has shared with me in just these three months but we would need a bigger newsletter. I guess I could shorten it to three things; they may sound simple, but the implications of each one run deep: Love God, Love each other, and

Love others. Pray for our youth group as they learn to live each of these out in their lives. Pray for me, that God would guide me through the process as I disciple our youth. This is going to be a great year. I am excited, are you?

Bryson Wallace

P.S. Did I mention D-Now is November 10-12th? I need volunteers! Mostly I need host homes. If you are interested in being a host home please let me know ASAP. I am starting early this year so we can have

everything ready. Can’t be a host home but want to help? Let me know. Thank you all for your love and support.

Last week we asked for folks who might be interested in helping with the media presentations on Sunday services. We’re still on the lookout for more help but this month, I’d like to give a quick shout-out of Thanks to those who are already serving in this capacity. Lee, Andrew, Allison, and Byron are doing a stellar job with the various tasks necessary for keeping the services flowing smoothly. This job’s not as easy as it looks. The guys running the MediaShout presentations that put the words up for everyone to reference when singing the songs are constantly having to instantly deal with things like when the program throws them a curve or the song leader forgets that he had intended to sing the chorus, but sings the verse instead. Lee is constantly reading up on manuals and brainstorming ways to make the equipment we use more usable! It’s a cliche that no one notices the sound / media people until something goes wrong, but I hope that folks at FBI won’t be guilty of overlooking the vital contributions of these selfless servants. These guys do a fantastic job and I hope you’ll tell ‘em so next time you see them. See you Sunday~~~Jim

To My FBC Family, I just wanted to thank you for all your prayers. I am convinced that without God’s mercy and your prayers, I would no longer be here. Please keep praying as I am not well yet. They were unable to complete the procedure that day, (May 19th) because my heart stopped and they had to shock me back. Love to all ~~Melva Jo Haralson We have been deeply blessed to be part of the family at First, Idalou. We count it all joy to have had the opportunity to serve with you these nine plus years. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you as you go forward. Thank you for the love and support through the years. Love to all ~~ Philip and Robbie Dear Church Family, Thank you for the beautiful plant you sent and for all the cards, texts, calls and prayers during this time. We appreciate your kindness. Love~~The Adkins Family FBC Thank you so much for helping me prepare for my mission trip to Germany financially and spiritually. Your prayers have been such a blessing in this journey so far and I am very grateful. Thank you again! Sincerely ~~Lauren Johnson Dear Church Family, We have an Awesome God!! Words cannot begin to express Thanks for the love, prayers, donations, and food we have received over the past few months. It all came at God’s perfect timing in our journey of losing Lori in such a short span of time, but Lori will live on in our hearts and we will draw strength knowing she is with God! Also, thanks for the peace lily, it was Lori’s favorite plant. Please remem-ber our family as we grieve and pray we will draw comfort from our Awesome God! God bless, Jesse Jr., Kkyler, Laci & Ian Jesse & Vicki Collins family
