    Description of Work

This work plan document covers the updating of the 2-day Implementing IBM

SmartCloud Entry on Power Systems course for internal and external audience.

This course is the follow-on of the 1SP0 Cloud Foundation on Power course.

    Work Planned

This project will consist of updating the 1SP2 course materials from SmartCloud Entry

2.2 to version 2.4 of SmartCloud Entry product offering. This update will make use of the

    Equipment requirements for development

The development team will utilized a Proof of Conceptenvironment to reduce the

overall number of systems required for delivery and allow students to work with the

concept. A production environment would require at least two servers, one for the

management node (ISD, etc.) and one as the node to be managed. The following

equipment will be required for the development work outlined in this document:

    - Remote access to the CLP lab environment described in Deploying Cloud

    Components on POWER redbook:

    Qty 1 - P6-550s (4 CPUs, 16 GB memory, Internal disks 0-23), 1 SCSI adapter,

1+ Ethernet Adapter, 2 Dual port FC Adapters, Hardware Management Console

    Development schedule

Development and planning work will begin on February 14th, 2013 and the project will

take approximately 37 person days to complete. This time estimate does not include the

time from reviewers or the delivery of the T3.

Based on current workloads for the development team members, it is anticipated that

the development project could be handed-over for publishing by May 3rd, 2013.

The Train-The-Trainers (T3) event will be scheduled after the development project

    completion date.

See the table below for a detailed analysis of the development schedule.

The recent update of 1SX2 includes materials related to the migration of data between

SCE 2.3 and 2.4. This material includes both information and lab exercise steps. For the

update of 1SP2, it is my recommendation that the information about migration bementioned, but no actual lab steps be provided.

Course content overlap with NGT71 IBM SmartCloud EntryImplementation in IBM PureFlex

The NGT71 material overlaps with content of the 1SP2/1SX2 course materials. The

NGT71 adds in materials related to:

    - Introduction to Cloud

    - Power Virtualization and VMControl

These topics are not required in 1SP2, because they are covered by the course

    prerequisite requirements.

    Development team

The development team will consist of two staff members from UNIX Software Service

    Enablement (USSE) team:

    - Mike Easlon (USSE)

This team will do the primary development and they will prepare and test the exercises.

    Review team

The review team will consist of the development team and:

    - Tyrone Dechalus (IBMT)

    - Karim Haffad (IBMT)

    - Thanh V Lam (IBMT)

    - Karim Haffad (IBMTT)
