  • A. 110V BATTERY BANK SIZING CALCULATIONS

    1- SCOPE

    To meet the requirements as per SOW of Al-Leith 33/13.8kV substation, this

    document deals with sizing 110V battery bank to cater for new as well as relocated equipment

    in substation building. 110V DC system shall consist of 1 No. battery bank and charger.

    2 - CALCULATIONS

    The calculations for sizing the battery are based on IEEE-1115

    2-1 CELL SIZING CALCULATIONS :

    The station DC auxillary power supply parameters for DC Control System are as follows.

    i ) Worst Critical case assessing the momentary loading has been assessed which

    involves simultaneous tripping of 5 Nos. of 33kV CBs on 33kV bus fault and

    8 Nos. of 13.8kV CBs on 13.8kV bus fault

    Emergency Lighting load for 1.5 hours is considered as 360W ( 2.88A ) maximum number

    of 9 incandascent lamps of 40W each are switched on at any given time by the maintenance

    personnel who reach the substation within 1.5 hours of power failure

  • B. 110V BATTERY CHARGER SIZING CALCULATIONS

    1 - SCOPE :

    To meet the requirements as per SOW of Al-Leith 33/13.8kV substation, this

    document deals with sizing 110V battery charger to cater for new as well as relocated equipment

    in existing SWGR building. DC system shall have one battery float / boost charger.

    2 - CALCULATIONS :

    The ampere hour rating of a battery charger is determined by equation which is as per

    Technical specification

    A = (1.25 X L)+ (BIF X AHR) ) / 0.83 1
