During my tenure I was instrumental in bagging a contract worth 60 Crores for the company and the company went on to become the biggest manufacturer on that Equipment in the country for India Armed and Para Military forces.

CAE India 05 Dec 2011 – Till date

I work for the company as AVP Sales and Marketing and as an interface between IAF and the company.

Presently we are working on many projects on Simulation and Modeling with the IAF. I was able to resolve many pending issues of the company with the IAF with my professional relationship with the IAF.

Aerospace Safety

My Career, as a fighter pilot, in the Indian Air Force was always connected with Aerospace safety. It was inherently part of piloting as Military flying is a complex process and there are times where dozens of aircraft are operating in a very limited airspace, albeit safely.

With the growing years in service, in the year 1999, I was assigned the task of Station Flight Safety and Inspection Officer of a Fighter base operating rather older fleet of aircraft. The task was tough but the mission was ZERO ACCIDENT. In my five years of tenure I ensured that the aircraft flew and with achieved NIL accident. This was through safety plans those were put in place and followed in letter and spirit.

The same base had severe Blue bull menace and extensive bird activity. After having studied the pattern and reason, the wild life was eradicated and bird activity minimized having one bird hit in 5 years.

Meticulous Implementation of operational procedures and policy decisions were put in place through brain storming sessions with the operators. The resistance of the operators was overcome with thorough interaction with them.

Later on I took over as Chief Operations Officer of a major Transport and Helicopter base in J&K. The challenge was to make people aware that of the fact that Apron Discipline, driving in aircraft maneuvering area, pedestrian movement and the wearing of reflective jackets is same at all the airfields and not limited to fighter bases only. With continuous monitoring, spreading awareness and publicity in the nearby places, it was achieved.

Foreign Objects and Damage created by them was a huge problem at that base. Strict discipline was ensured during mixed operations to avoid foreign object. Rotor downwash was established as a major cause for FOD in fixed wing aircraft. The same was controlled by making fresh SOPs and Instructions. Manual and mechanical means were engaged to ensure cleanliness of aircraft maneuvering area. In 2004 and 5, India witnessed numerous natural disasters. Tsunami in peninsula in Dec 2004 followed by wide spread snow in J&K and a massive earthquake on 08 Oct 2005. 08 Oct happens to be Air Force Day. This gave me a reason to explore my leadership ability, decision making and executing it by the clock. 20000 people and thousands of tons of material was dropped during my tenure and with ZERO ACCIDENT.

Page 5: 19545

A place like that would attract the VIPs, therefore I got to see the VIPs of this country very closely as part of my responsibility.

My area of responsibility was from Siachin Glacier to Pathankot. With 22 Light and Medium Lift helicopters at my disposal and a professional team of 80 men and women, the station was declared the most operations station of Western Air Command in 2006.
