July 2017 – Salt Spring Island 1954 MG ZA Magnette + Parts Car Asking $7,800 “Tin top” Right hand drive. Chassis No: KA J 24 2211 I have the above MG for sale for my sister as it was my brother in laws car. He recently passed away earlier this year. Here is some info of the car and some photos. There is also a left hand drive spare car along with other assorted parts. They are located on Salt Spring Island. 2nd owner for 27 years. The car was bought at the MG factory in Abbingdon-on-Thames in Nov. 1954. Then shipped to Sri Lanka. In 1987 I restored the car in Sri Lanka. The speedometer was replaced with the one from the spare MG. The mileage is 108,000 miles & not the current reading, which is 48,000 miles. The Magnette is in need of complete restoration except for the upholstery (in excellent condition) and a custom stainless steel exhaust system . There is surface rust, so it needs new paint and the engine needs work as well. Original engine and transmission. Tires are practically new (about 200 miles on them). The engine hasn't been turned over in 4 years. A complete overhaul is needed. There is also a spare Magnette, stripped down as a spares car, two extra engines and 2 transmissions and extra carburetors. Spare set of doors. I also have registration papers for the spare car as well. Custom stainless steel badge bar with three badges. Also comes with a very rare dealers spare parts manual : this has all the detailed descriptions and illustrations for the entire car. Essential for restoration.
