With a membership of 60, many of themwell-known Inco people, Sudbury KennelClub is making steady progress with aconstructive four-point program that hasmuch to offer the dog-owner.

Obedience training, information for breed-ers, preparation for dog shows, and fieldtrials are the four headings under which theKennel Club's activities are conducted.President is Harold Bruce, vice-president isDoug MacNaughton, secretary-treasurer isNorman Jones, and directors are HaroldGathercole, Bert Robinson, Dr. Frank Flow-ers, and Mrs. W. Lawton of Levack.

60,000 Miles ofTravel on Job

Leonard "Red" Donnelly , who recentlyretired on Inca pension, travelled almost60,000 miles at his job in the nickel refineryat Port Colborne . In the little cab of histelpher crane , an overhead travelling hoist,he shuttled back and forth between variousstages in the refining process, shift aftershift for 26 of his 29 years' faithful service.

They've figured it out that "Red" movedabout half a million buckets of materialcontaining some 650 ,000 tons of nickel.

S. A. Crandall has retired on service pension.

To him goes a substantial share of the credit

for the way the Company has always been

Frood-Stobie Carpenter andFraming Shops a Busy Spot

Three quarters of a million feet of timbera year is processed into various shapes andsizes for underground square sets at Frood-Stobie Mine alone. In addition to thismaterial, the carpenter and framing shopsat Frood-Stobie regularly produce a tremend-ous quantity of other items for use in themine, such as ventilation doors, concreteforms, ladder sides, skip and cage guides,saddle blocks for drifts, grizzley blocks forstope,, chute sides. pillar and jaw blocks, andthousands of blasting spacers, to name justa few.

The big producer is the massive double-end framing machine seen in the first of theaccompanying photographs. An all- time all -Inco safety record of 232,769 consecutive shifts without a lost-time accident was established by ConistonSmelter during the period from August 9, 1951 , to March 4, 1953. The previous record of 227,965 safe shifts was held by Coniston.In setting the spectacular new mark they collected their eighth 100,000 -Safe-Shifts -Award since 1944. This will probably be the greatest Coro-nation pageant given any queen in Britishhistory. The ceremony will be well rehears-ed with replicas of the royal regalia. TheBritish Crown Jewels are the most valuablein any collection in any royal treasury. In-cluding at least seven magnificent crownsbesides scepters, orbs, swords, spurs, rings andbracelets, there are about sixty pieces alltold. The total value has been estimated ashigh as $80,000,000.

Some of the individual gems, however, arevirtually priceless. The historic Koh-i-nooris the most famous diamond in the world.The Black Prince's ruby, now in the frontof the State Crown, has historic value quiteapart from pounds and pence. In the RoyalScepter sparkles the Great Star of Africa,the biggest cut diamond in the world, weigh-ing 530 carats-as big as a Seckel pear.
