09:00–10:00 Partner Presentation - InterSystems: “Forging the Future of Interoperability with FHIR”
The HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) specification is gaining widespread attention for its potential to foster innovative approaches to sharing clinical data. As a standard, FHIR is still early in its implementation but is recognized as an important standard for the future of healthcare systems needing to drive coordinated care and population health management strategies. All such initiatives require collaboration supported by shared health records. FHIR is a prime candidate to become the standard to bridge legacy systems and new systems to gather the data for this collaboration, and to bring the industry closer to comprehensive, timely health information sharing. FHIR is ideally suited for mobile and web applications that enable access to this comprehensive record. This presentation discusses the benefits of FHIR, as well as its role in realizing the full potential and value of shared health information when backed by solid IT infrastructure.Dr. Russ Leftwich, HL7 International Executive Committee member Senior Clinical Advisor, Interoperability, InterSystems
10:30–11:30 Partner Presentation - Onbase by Hyland: Are Clinicians Seeing the Full Patient? - Follow up discussion
Following the introduction of this topic at the Meet the Nordic session, we invite you to share your experience in relation to the following discussion points:
• Digitizing the patient record is a bigger picture than implementing an EMR• When facing digitalization, clinicians are sold on the concept of all of their information
residing in an EMR which will eliminate their process inefficiencies• The key is: when digitizing information, an organization needs to prevent silos of
information • Without integrating all content to a unified view in the EMR, clinicians will be working with
only a part of the storyDan Slates, Senior Manager, Healthcare, Onbase by Hyland
