1914-1924 Archbishop Michael Kelly
Fr JH Morris PP
Appointed to the parish of Maroubra, newly cut off from Randwick parish.
No church – mass celebrated in the Pearsall’s home in Boyce Road, then upstairs in the Dudley building at Maroubra Junction.
Land was purchased for a church and school.
Brigidines Mothers Paul and Patricia enrolled 60 pupils to new church-school, St Aidan’s in March, 1915, travelling from Randwick daily – usually by tram, but by sometimes by foot. The Sisters did this for 19 years until the convent was built.
The church-school was one open space and all the school furni-ture was moved each weekend to convert to a church, with the altar in the stage’s present position.

Fr Slattery became Parish Priest.
With the Wyndham reforms affecting all schools in the 1960s,
the Brigidine Sisters co-operated with Archdiocesan authorities
in rationalising schooling in the eastern suburbs.
The secondary section became a separate regional school for
Years 7 to 10 girls until it was closed in 1988.
This meant that St Aidan’s, from the mid-1960s, was a parish
primary school for girls to Year 6 and for boys to Year 4.
In 1969 there were 418 pupils.
1970- boys can now remain there until the end of Year 6.
