GOAL SETTING AND MOTIVATION

• Physical activity allows a person to set goals, this improves motivation.• Goals should be separated into:• Immediate, Short term and long term.

MANAGING STRESS AND SELF CONTROL

• A certain level of stress helps performance, and experience in dealing with similar situations. • Too much built up stress can result in a loss of

control in performance. It is important to recognise stress and manage it appropriately. • Self control is a persons ability to manage their

emotions and behaviour. Self control is needed in many areas, especially working with others in order to perform.

ENABLERS AND BARRIERS

• Enablers use effective time-management skills, motivational strategies to cope and are accountable to others.

• Barriers lack time to participate, done enjoy and may have a lack of support.

Resilience:• Resilience is a persons ability to “bounce back”.

Building resilience is a process which a person achieves over a course of their life, through being connected with others, the community and overcoming complex changes.

DESCRIBING THE EFFECTS

• Example: Describe the effect self manage strategies such as resilience had on participation in the Physical Activity.

• Answer: I showed perseverance by continuing to work hard at team practises even when our team was not performing well in matches. This encouraged my team mates to do the same, and, as a team, we were proud we did not give up throughout the season.

(DESCRIBE IN DEPTH)SRE: STATEMENT, REASONS AND

EXAMPLE. TIME MGMT.• Statement: State ‘how’ the SMS or TIME MANAGEMENT

can be applied. Answer: Self management can be applied in Physical Education activities through scheduling activities onto a daily planner.• Reasons: Provide reasons ‘how’ and ‘why’ the SMS

affected Physical and emotional wellbeing. Answer: Having scheduled activities during PE gave people the time to perform the activities safely, in the correct order and within a suitable time. The schedule of activities gave the class structure and provided plenty of time for people to complete activities and organise equipment timely.

SRE (EXAMPLE) TIME MGMT

• Example: Give specific examples of how time Mgmt was applied during PE and the effect it had on others.

The structure maintained a positive effect on others, when we completed activities, as there was set up time involved in setting up touch rugby teams, a team strategy meeting, running a tournament and then a set of challenging and demanding activities, everybody felt that what they were being asked to do was achievable due to the time spent preparing for the activity.
